Funny enough we already had a instance where he did do that. https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...=1#post3331508
In this little interview here he said that magic would never be blocked and then come 4.0, Plds could block magic.

Funny enough we already had a instance where he did do that. https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...=1#post3331508Well, the funny thing about declarative statements is that Yoshi P didn't sign a blood pact with a goatia demon to never add another attack spell to healers for the rest of FFXIV's existence. He is allowed to change is mind, as are the other combat designers. Just because someone says something one day does not mean they are forever bound to that. Which is not to say that the opposite is objectively more likely either, but rather, continuing to put pressure on the subject at least has the capability of swaying their stance. We have absolutely no clue how likely the continued discussion about healer design will be to forcing a shift in design philosophy, but we can say with certainty that it is a nonzero chance.
My favorite example of 'a director's word is not eternal' would be Masahiro Sakurai. When Super Smash Bros Brawl was released, he stated in an interview that Animal Crossing would never get a fighter because it wouldn't make sense. Fast forward to the very next installment in the series, and Villager was literally the first newcomer revealed.
I would rather spent time out of my day trying everything I can to convince the designers to pivot their perspective than actually play the game at this point. But at least for me personally, I'm just committed until we know what changes (if any) dawntrail holds. If nothing changes, then I intend to give up and leave the game forever, or until a future expansion does change things.

Yoshi P actually has a long history of saying something is "impossible" only to go ahead and do it anyway the next expansion. I mean just look at Viera and Hrothgar... The entire reason we've gotten new hairstyles, male Viera, and Female Hrothgar is specifically because people were not satisfied with Shadowbringers' approach to those those races. If no one said anything, and everyone just accepted that Viera and Hrothgar were going to stay that way, then they would've. That proves that feedback can do something.Funny enough we already had a instance where he did do that. https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...=1#post3331508

Or that they can't show us in-game which attacks are magic and which are physical.Yoshi P actually has a long history of saying something is "impossible" only to go ahead and do it anyway the next expansion. Or that they couldn't show us in-game which Orch rolls/Minions/Mounts we had already collected
until a plugin came out which did exactly that, made SE look very foolish, and suddenly we had the same functionality added to the game, it miraculously changed from 'can't be done' to 'well actually it could be done the whole time, we just didn't'

Timers of buffs/debuffs on the party list and abilities on your hotbar being in the center instead of a tiny number come to mind...Or that they couldn't show us in-game which Orch rolls/Minions/Mounts we had already collected

Both things they did in a .X patch if I recall.
I'm tired of being told to wait for post-patches and expansions for fixes and increased healing requirements that are never coming. Healers are not fun in all forms of content like all jobs should be, they're replaced by tanks and dps due to low healing requirements and their dps kit is small for 0 reason, when in the past we had more options and handled things just fine. I refuse to play healer in roulette come DT. I refuse to heal EXs, I refuse to go into Savage, and I am boycotting Ultimate.

I remember the same for magical and physical attacks, YoshiP wanted us to figure out if an AOE attack is one or the other.Funny enough we already had a instance where he did do that. https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...=1#post3331508

One of the latest patch added the phys/magi icons to any enemy attack.
Opinions change quite a lot.
I always say this when it comes to Yoshida. He implemented a LOT of stuff for this game and it at times feels like he didn't know why it was something people wanted in other games or why it mattered in othere games.
