Can we like pay a mod to put a bot in these forums that anytime someone writes some variation of “go play a DPS” they just get a big popup that says “this is not a valid argument” and then their comment gets deleted

Sigh. Mate, saying people can play other thing has been said... Maybe a billion time ?
Sorry if my message was taken the wrong way: I didn't mean that you, as a person, were stupid. But that the argument itself seemed to have been thrown out a bit quickly, without much thought.
Many answers have already been given:
- Pleasure in playing the supporting role, which no class really brings to FF outsides of healers.
- Many people also play dps; we're not in a game where restricting yourself to a single role is necessary. So to say that people who complain about healers "should play dps" is rather... Inconsistent?
- And finally, the fact that switching classes won't solve the underlying problem. Here, that the design of the healers, combined with that of the encounters, poses a real gameplay problem within this role.
The somewhat hasty answer that "all the person has to do is play dps" is also a bit hasty in the sense that, given the evolution of the game, it seems difficult to me to evolve towards pure healer. It's much more likely that we'll be moving towards a support role. In fact, we're already there... But without all the complexity usually associated with these roles. Healers are still healers, but a game that conceives them as supports and rezzes on legs, which results in a bastard thing... And boring as hell to play in 90% of its content.
