I'm bored when I heal because I need more complex DPS rotations

They've more or less made things harder in response, Abyssos being the prime example for Savage content. The problem is, despite how high they've raised the healing requirements, there's still far too much dead time when those healing requirements are met that are filled with Glare spam, and Abyssos already led to healer shortages with a lot of healers finding the role too stressful. There's no middle ground to be found where we can simultaneously make experienced healers happy with the healing requirement while also not overwhelming newer or less skilled players.

Honestly im not very good in multytasking, so they healer the way it is for me its fine. I dont play savage content so i dont know how it works in savages. Must be really stresfull like you said.

Lol read your argument. Dancer's aren't bitching about only having 1 heal, Redmage's having multiple support abilities is a huge problem atm, literally making other casters not wanted by raiders because they can't do what red mages do. I'm not being dismissive I'm trying to explain that your real issue is with being bored not that your not doing enough damage. Instead of making the class fun by turning it into a dps, make the act of healing actually fun. Exactly how idk I can think of examples but the idea isn't ludacris and is definitely possible. Fill the free time with healing not dps, I want combo heals, synergizing heals, proccing heals, and for any of that to be fun we need more and more frequent damage.

I don't want to be a heal slave, I want to contribute to damage in significant ways no matter what role or job I am, and I want that damage contribution to be more complex and interesting.

Well if you see healing role as slavery maybe should go pure dps role. Should play a job that you find fun to play.

What Mithron is trying to get at (and myself as well) is that jobs are more than just their role, if tanks have access to a simple-yet-compelling melee DPS rotation, a healer having the same but for a more caster-oriented playstyle doesn't seem farfetched, especially since that's how they used to act back in SB. Telling someone to play another job will lead to healers "graduating" out of the role as they get bored of the mindless kit, which only makes the healer shortage worse over time, and doesn't actually provide a solution to their issue.

I played SCH because I liked having lots of DoTs and shields, now I only have those shields, "playing another job" won't actually help me since now there's very few jobs that have lots of DoTs, and if a DPS offered that, they still wouldn't have the shields I liked too.

I don't see how, difficulty =/= Dark Souls, and having extra DPS options on healers doesn't somehow make the fights more difficult, especially since you can get away with not using them at all on casual content
