First house Mao ever owned in game was small. Mao was so happys because Mao has livings space twice size of apartsment and Mao could has funs while not feelings claustrophobics. Mao later was lucky enough to upsgrade to medium but if Mao never gots lucky and was still with small, Mao still would has been content. Small houses really good!

Have a large now, but for over a year I just had a small. I felt cramped, but I wasn't half the designer I am now. I see smalls that do amazing things with floating. They feel more like compact mediums than little cottages.

Since i managed to get my private and fc house next door to each other, i cant upgrade because its abit too sweet of a setup to willingly give up. So im happily settled into my small. But i want to be able to buy more rooms ratherthn haing to create and level a alt for another room and im limited to like 8 rooms

With more players coming in everyday and dawntrail bring people back, xbox players and more it is going to be very cozy. Problem is you can not and will never satisfy the homeless.

Anyone who has a house is this game feels elite. If you own a house you know exactly what I am talking about. Look at all the salt day in and day out on this board alone. Not to mention discords and reddit lol.

With a housing mirage you're house could be anything thus driving the demand for homes up. There are homeless who skip out on smalls just due to the interior space... I can't wait to see how this all plays out

I think the demand for prime smalls will skyrocket, the demand for mediums will fall off, and the demand for larges will stay the same if not slightly dip. The demand for smalls with bad views or inconvenient placement will still largely be the same; no one is going to drop 50mil (presumably?) upgrading an F tier small to a large interior except for the filthy rich side of the community who already own multiple accounts/houses.

When I see "design" of Large house being a small crumpled room filled with various details taking the square area of ground floor in Small house, can't shake the feeling it's a little bit of wasted potential.

If developer will increase each of the houses maximum capacity by some fixed amount, I'm starting to think NOTHING AT ALL will change: It will just allow more details for builds in Large houses while not allowing to move these crumpled designs into the Smalls. Dev time and resources wasted, I dare to say desired impact missed, then "geez you're never happy smh my head" replies.

Server space is limited and expensive. They can't store data for an infinite amount of objects with coordination data.

i remember someones calculations on this forum that for everyone on every data center to have 3 large houses worth of placed items (XYZ coordinate, type of item and color) it would take around 1.5 TB of storage. Even if it's more then that, with current tech it's somewhat achievable for a normal person, let alone a game studio like square. Now to have server processing power, to have as much of those items displayed for as many people as possible, that's the tricky and expensive part

You are right but the data also has to be stored and pulled on demand; I think that adds a little more complexity to the amount of data that can be stored. I don't know the specifics, honestly. I am really hoping it's not artificial and they just limit the amount of wards to keep them exclusive... because that would be dumb... but it would also be right in line with stubborn Japanese conservative culture.
