Ok that made me literally LOL. At bare minimum, the fact that they want to do housing mirage says they don’t think that having a medium or large is some kind of prestige system, because they’re going to work on letting everyone have the interior space they want. Kinda sounds more like they painted themselves into a corner with the ward system, as well as grossly underestimating how popular personal housing would be, and they’re working on ideas to even things out. I could buy that maybe they don’t think there’s high demand for instanced because JP doesn’t have supply issues to the extent that NA does, but nowhere have I ever seen a statement from the dev team that would back up your position that housing is meant to be a prestige system and certain plots and sizes are purposely limited in order to reinforce that.

If anything, Island Sanctuary and housing mirage show that they’re experimenting with what they can do in the instanced areas of housing that already exist. And you can credit that when you see your interior item limit increases in Dawntrail. Because I highly doubt we’ll get a significant increase in outdoor space precisely because of the limitations of permanently loaded wards.
