If he's talking about swtor its not even close. XIV's small story updates are longer than swtors "major" content updates.

I have no interest in discussing the other game I was referring to, to be honest - for one, I really don't enjoy doing so and have no interest arguing my point about a game I now dislike on the forum of a game I enjoy.
And secondly, I can't see any reason to since it is, demonstrably, only acceptable to have a negative opinion of FFXIV in this forum in general and this thread in particular.

As for negativity, I don't get it. This is official forums, not some facebook meme page. Why would anyone come here to spread positivity? You have twitter, reddit, FB is supposedly still a thing, discords, and many other media for that. OF is more akin to discussion forums and positive things simply do not spark the discussions, which is why narrative often seems skewed towards negativity. The fact that half of the posts nowadays are shitposts is another thing.

Constructive criticism != negativity. Reason why majority of us are here is because we do love the game, but we want it to be even better. I honestly have yet to see anyone here who seem to genuinely hate the game. There are people with different game philosophies, but that's fine, this is why we discuss in a first place.

So stop thinking that people here are the biggest haters, in reality, it's often people who love the game the most.

There are far too many people who misrepresent me as someone who dislikes FFXIV when my main issue is how far the standards have fallen and how shocking the change of direction has been when compared to previous expansions.

My ideal situation is one where FFXIV is back to levels of enjoyment I had prior to Endwalker. Seeing the game seemingly double down on all the mistakes it's been making this expansion has been an awful experience, doubly so when I'm attacked by people who do not have the frame of reference I do of when this game was in a far better state.

I simply don't wish to get into an argument about a game I don't enjoy anymore on a forum for a game that I do. I don't see any value in a discussion of that nature.

Why wouldn't they? I mean, my first post/thread here was pretty much asking advice and I received some wonderful responses. I don't much like the implication that forums are little more than a soapbox for players who only want to broadcast complaints.

I tend to think YoshiP (and no, I don't worship him - but he does know infinitely more about managing a gaming company than I do) was correct when he said "the silent always leave first" and "if citizens are complaining it means they still care".
But that doesn't mean that we should do nothing but complain, does it?

Not sure where you got the idea that I think people here are haters as I said nothing to suggest that. I simply stated that I feel the forum leans too far into negativity to the point where, in some threads, saying something positive leads to rebuke and having to justify my opinion as I have done here.
