Housing was designed to retain subsIt's even more frustrating when looking at how The Elder Scrolls Online handles its own housing system. For starters, every house purchased is account bound and comes in a variety of sizes and styles. Once purchased, the owner can take a break for months or even years and return to the game to find everything perfectly intact.
A stark contrast to the unfortunate decision to rid people of their houses if they dare to take a break from the game for longer than 45 days at a time without logging on.
Even WoW, with its garrisons - which admittedly aren't player housing as such - takes a similar approach. You can take a break for years and return to find the garrison exactly how it was left.
