Keep in mind, Yoshida once said they would never force players to remain subbed to keep their houses. Someone even has that exact quote in their signature. Now he may still feel that way but I suspect Square Enix doesn't. After all, the company as a whole has long been pretty slimy about chasing money trends.
Ok so in that context I can see the mindset. I dont read people signatures, so if somebody said that, -WHOOSH- over my head.
But ultimately when I say "Its silly" I mean..."Really, you arnt playing the game, why would you continue to pay for it? If its so bad that you dont wanna pay, then why are you still paying?" and to use a Videogame house as an excuse...just feels silly to me. But again, thats just me.
I shouldnt have to, but Im just going to say it again...the Housing System is Garbage. It Would be nice if they made a solution, but its been about a decade so...

I wanna pretend the Solution could be Apartments. But unless they do things like give you a Deck or something to act as a pseudo-Garden, it just wont fix the issue.
But then at that point, Instanced Housing would probly be the solution. Bah who knows. As bad of an excuse as it is, the legacy 1.0 coding I guess just wont allow it.
