I'd say it's only half of the problem. The other half is that despite the numerous live letters and interviews, the dev team isn't actually good at communication. It feels like complaints aren't being acknowledged and Yoshi-P acting surprised about issues that's been there and discussed to death for half a decade isn't inspiring confidence.
It doesn't help either that whenever they do hear about any issue, their immediate reaction is to cut content or dumb it down so it's as innofensive as possible.

How in the world was Yoshi at the very least implying that he was only made aware of the requests to have the CGI WoL's beard available in game so late in FFXIV's lifespan? Not to mention the indisputable mishandling of both limited races.

I very much agree, they should be looking at forums and social media for feedback way more proactively. There's so many issues with the game that the dev team just doesn't understand. The game is what 10 years old at this point, why is there still no ingame feature for searching for an FC? The community is literally what is keeping this boat afloat when the content certainly isn't doing it. And that's just one tiny example of a feature that should have been in the game at launch. These devs love to drop features at the drop of a hat too, like what happened with the achievement token system? That could have been amazing, a reason to get those pointless achievement points, throw some amazing exclusive mounts and outfits etc. on there but they just haven't done anything with it since it came out, like one item per year or expansion doesn't really cut it.

I agree with the with the lack of community tools. I also don't understand why the game doesn't have a general chat channel. Somewhere when you can go "Yeah, I'd like to do that, is anyone up?" on the fly. Novice Network is kinda used for that, but that's limited to 512 people at the same time, and you need to be either a novice or a mentor. When I look at it, it's often useless conversation, but that's part of what makes a mmo live. On other mmo, I sometimes spent hours on debate about lore points there with people I never met. Here, despite the community oriented posture, everything is done so we only play with people of our FC.

I have nothing against the Duty and Party Finders (For playing mmo where there was none of those, I can tell you they're a good thing, that help to keep all), but they're both kinda impersonnal. Plus they ask for an active search, you can never just see a message and go "Oh, yeah, it's been a long time I haven't done that, why not". You join, some say hello, and that's it. Having the possibility to just use a chan to discuss and make team the old way would be a nice touch. Interacting with the people before going into the content help making the mood of the party good, while right now, everything is done so you don't interact with other player.

That's one of the strong points of Eureka and Bozja content. Those instance were probably the ones that felt the most mmo, people are mostly chill. In Eureka the norm is to ask if there are people on the way before starting a Fate. In the rest of the game, it's rushing and everyone for themselves. I think part of the reason why it's like this is that it force you actively search for a party the old way (with the fact they had interesting drops and reason to run them on the long term), being forced to interact with them, and actually feeling mmo (I feel like that might also be why people miss that kind of content so much). Right now, this game is in a state where they say they're proud of their community, but do everything so their community doesn't interact with each other. Everything is designed so you don't do circumstancials party, because it's not pushed.

The guy wanted the raid to have to restart if one person got hit in the hallway of puppets bunker if that'd be any indication. I don't know how anyone puts up with him considering some of the antics he gets up to just for a game promotion.

It's literally a fact that for Endwalker they've shifted focus from long form content to one and done content and that's not good for any MMO.

If I stand on a high gravity world and drop a hammer, I do not need to see it fall to know it is on the ground. The bet is predicated on predictable results after 6.4. tell ya what...IF Aveyond DOESNT post a rant thread on how its all bad and how he would have done this and this and this ( aka his last rant after 6.3 ) within 24 hours after 6.4 drops, Ill be very surprised.

I don't feel that the reason why people talked in Bozja, Eureka or Diadem was due to wanting to. That it was extremely boring otherwise. While probably the only way to know if the thing you might need for progression was going to happen soon in the instance you were in. If it was then asking if anyone else was going to be doing those fights was the only way to know that it had a chance of being completed. Unless it's diadem then it was to see if you were alone in the instance or to share in your suffering of farming materials. As if playing Frontlines has taught me anything a lot of people can't be bothered to look at a dang map every once in awhile.

Not aimed at you but there is an in game button that does send you to the community tab where you can then search for FCs. Though how anyone has a problem finding one when they're shouted out as often as venues if not sent blind invites to one is beyond me. Unless it's trying to find one that might suit you. Which you probably won't know until you give them a try. Or you know ask said shouter about their FC. Unless you're a certain FC on my server that when asked for more information they'd rather send you to their website than answer a possibly interested person's questions. That's the response I got from the leader so you'd think they would be able to answer stuff.
