Maybe Im different, idk, if Im not playing the game anymore and dont wanna pay for it, then, bye.
I wont Financially shackle myself to a game for something like that. A house in a Videogame just is not -That- Important to me.

But I guess you could say rent for it is cheaper then IRL rent XD
While I don't doubt removing inactive house owners is a factor, if it were the only consideration they wouldn't make it a relatively short 45 days which just so happens to make it impossible to unsub during a full patch cycle. If they implemented it in such a way that demolition only happened during the launch of a new major patch (say 6.4 for argument sake) then I'd be inclined to agree they're just doing it to clean out long lapsed players. Keep in mind, Yoshida once said they would never force players to remain subbed to keep their houses. Someone even has that exact quote in their signature. Now he may still feel that way but I suspect Square Enix doesn't. After all, the company as a whole has long been pretty slimy about chasing money trends.

Ok so in that context I can see the mindset. I dont read people signatures, so if somebody said that, -WHOOSH- over my head.
But ultimately when I say "Its silly" I mean..."Really, you arnt playing the game, why would you continue to pay for it? If its so bad that you dont wanna pay, then why are you still paying?" and to use a Videogame house as an excuse...just feels silly to me. But again, thats just me.
I shouldnt have to, but Im just going to say it again...the Housing System is Garbage. It Would be nice if they made a solution, but its been about a decade so...

I wanna pretend the Solution could be Apartments. But unless they do things like give you a Deck or something to act as a pseudo-Garden, it just wont fix the issue.
But then at that point, Instanced Housing would probly be the solution. Bah who knows. As bad of an excuse as it is, the legacy 1.0 coding I guess just wont allow it.

Which is fair. This likely wouldn't apply to you but for others housing is a big part of what they enjoy about the game. I'll give you an example. My friend recently had a baby and has basically stopped playing since late last year. Getting a house was something she wanted since she started and she happened to win her dream plot (41 LB) back when the second wave of Stormblood houses happened. When she is playing, she adores that house. If she were to unsub, she'd never get it again. Therefore, her choices are to pay for a sub she hardly uses at the moment or lose one of things she wanted years to obtain and has no guarantee she'll ever get again, and certainly not that plot. When you boil it down, 15$ amounts to 3.75$ a week. Throwing that away monthly is worth keeping the house for when she returns to the game.

Yeah, pretty much. If the developers actually took the time to listen to feedback, most of these would have been fixed by now. The solutions to the problems present in the game have been given, but have fallen on deaf ears.
