I was thinking of that too. It would make it easier down the road if people only had to get to 100 and then they could jump into 9.0 even if they missed 8.0.Makes sense, level 99/100 is always the level cap in FF games. So doing a different kind of progression beyond that makes perfect sense. They could end up doing a more game wide version of the Eureka/Bozja ranking type systems, where it's less stats and more of your power when compared to the enemy's...but start giving out trait/ability upgrades so we're technically getting stronger, but our stats are tied to the gear alone. So higher ilvls still give that glorious boost in stats, but whatever progression in rank we get will only deal with skills/traits.
