The change I'd like to see in 7.0 and onward is for the MSQ to strictly be solo duties with or without quest NPCS mixed with various solo quests/cutscenes. Then have all multiplayer duties be optional side content. ARR had a number of different 4 player duties that broke the monotony of the 4 player level design we see now which feels like is designed around the lowest skill level players because they tie them into the MSQ to the point they've gone back and homogenized old duties that didn't fit this bottom of the barrel mold. Having all multiplayer content be optional side content not tied to the MSQ would allow them to improve the design of said content without issues of a certain group of players crying that they're "gated" out of story progression.
