Makes sense, level 99/100 is always the level cap in FF games. So doing a different kind of progression beyond that makes perfect sense. They could end up doing a more game wide version of the Eureka/Bozja ranking type systems, where it's less stats and more of your power when compared to the enemy's...but start giving out trait/ability upgrades so we're technically getting stronger, but our stats are tied to the gear alone. So higher ilvls still give that glorious boost in stats, but whatever progression in rank we get will only deal with skills/traits.
I was thinking of that too. It would make it easier down the road if people only had to get to 100 and then they could jump into 9.0 even if they missed 8.0.Makes sense, level 99/100 is always the level cap in FF games. What would you have the job design trio doing in the meantime?
and no, it would absolutely not be acceptable given the terrible state 2 roles and several jobs in the third are in and have been for years.
When the cross hotbar gets full, gotta make room. PLD makes it easy. Cover and Shield Bash are outta there.
I think that you'll find that large groups of people generally, and the forums in particular, don't believe in the existence of tradeoffs between the things that they want and the finite resources available to create those things. As the title suggests, I have this thought, opinion, whatever, and I've no idea if anyone else feels the same way. In regards to 7.0, if the devs came out and said there would be no level increase. No additions to the existing toolkits, yeah? But that, in lieu of this, there would be a greater focus on animation overhauls and fine tuning what's already there (tweaking, removing, etc.), I think that'd be a-okay. I'd even go so far as to say I'd prefer that approach. Almost certain it won't happen, though.
I'm fully content believing Elezen will always be stuck with rigid animations because Elezen 2.0 did exist once, then people clamored for a new race. So they slapped some ears on them and presented Viera.
Instead of new abilities...I hope we get new traits that make older abilities more effective.
When you deal with human beings, never count on logic or consistency.
Fluid like water. Smooth like silk. Pepperoni like pizza.
I would be perfectly fine with no level increase, provided they instead focused on more content. I would not be okay with no level increase but the same amount of content.
