What's the point with that quite lackluster story in Endwalker?

I'm apparently depressed enough that I have to be medicated for it but no; even in my darkest and most despairing hour I have never wanted to take the world down with me. I think that's because I'm not a raving psychopath, though. Not sure.

And I see you just take what Exposition'shtola dishes out and look no further. Too bad we are also shown how they can create literally anything they can imagine including beings that manipulate Dynamis and how that explanation falls apart when you look at it with a modicum of common sense. Fact is, we'll never know what the Ancients could have done because they never had to chance to defend themselves due to a subversive traitor in their midst deciding that she alone knew what was best for all of humanity.
