What's the point with that quite lackluster story in Endwalker?

And I see you just take what Exposition'shtola dishes out and look no further. Too bad we are also shown how they can create literally anything they can imagine including beings that manipulate Dynamis and how that explanation falls apart when you look at it with a modicum of common sense. Fact is, we'll never know what the Ancients could have done because they never had to chance to defend themselves due to a subversive traitor in their midst deciding that she alone knew what was best for all of humanity.

Misanthropy is actually a much more common experience than many admit. I agree with you that being depressed doesn’t make one a misanthrope, but I don’t agree with your conclusion. Monsters and villains can possess empathy and love. To believe they can’t is to not see them for what they are. Human.
