There's definitely been an evolution in burst combos since they were introduced. Inner Release was just the start, Gnashing Fang expanded on it, and Shroud is its ultimate evolution. Imagine if they merely tried to copypaste the Advent Children portrayal of Omnislash (v5). Five hit 1.5s GCD combo (with oGCDs every second hit) with that shadowy flame aura that we've begged for since 2015, finisher where Frey afterimages snatch the floating spectral swords out of the air and attack multiple times. I don't care how snore-inducing tanking has become, I'd main DRK again if we got to Omnislash with a Greatsword.
