Requesting Information on Jobs: Preparing for 1.21

Indeed. That's what it means to specialize. You sacrifice diversity in exchange for extra power.

This is why we have an option to switch between classes and jobs, because there are times where you'll want to be diverse, and there are times where you'll want to specialize.

Jobs aren't necessarily superior over classes or vice versa, nor are they meant to be. They're simply two different playstyles that you can work with depending on your preference and situation.

What this guy said ^^.. Cross-classing will always be stringer yes.. Jobs are were always ment for Specializing and gaining more powers with in the Role they assign themselves too

Show me in that video where you see Black Mage granting more damage to spells. Don't count Ancient magic spell with a 15 minute recast. Where is the MP cut to spells, nowhere they still cost the same damn amount.

Looks like the same damn amount. Now this makes me even more nervous. Cause in some situations Cjn can do the same amount of damage as Thaumturge. So if jobs don't help make a different in damage that means white mage can do equal damage to Black Mage, isn't this fantastic?

Example fight Ama'jaal spamming Aerora/Stonra.

Great the healer role, can beat the damager role in some situations, this should never happen with black mage and white mage. I put up with it when it comes to Cjn and Thm, because they aren't specifically healer or DD roles they can be either.

cross-classing the classes is one of the things i actually really enjoyed about this game.

Then you can still do that... just don't be any of the jobs.. you will be disappointed.. I tell you that.. Jobs.. NEVER cross-class.. they are lock with the role they are "Lancer/DRG" nothing else etc etc... Jobs are Specialized not Freelancing.

- Want to Cross-class.. stay as the class you are now
- Want Specialized Jobs to make your Job more defined? Get the jobs and Abilities for it.

This is how FF jobs have always been.. if you expect 1.21 to have Cross-classing... then you will be sadly disappointed...

Note:

-Classes( Freelancers) will always be stronger in nature of the Diversity to be able to combined things for every class.
-Jobs( Specialized in the 1 Role they are Given) Don't have the Luxury of Classes of combining abilities together, however, the job they are assigned to gets more classified abilities which makes them stronger in said job.

^ this always is FF games in General this is the FF3 route.. Its either you stay Freelancin' or Do jobs.. both will be in the game... but you make the choice which one you want to do
