A Job will be unable to cross class skills that belong to other jobs. That much is obvious, being that each job skill is exclusive to said job.

A job is a specialized version of the one class that it stems from. A PLD is a special GLA, a MNK a special PGL, etc. The secondary classes are there to add flavor, an extra requirement to make some sort of sense in the direction in which the primary class is specializing.
So a PLD is not cross classing skills from GLA and CNJ. A PLD is a GLA with access to unique job skills and equipment. Possibly even traits, though that hasn't been disclosed.

It is confirmed that Jobs will be able to cross-class, but that it will be very limited in comparison to classes themselves. Either the number of skills one can cross class will be limited, or the classes from which each job can take skills - or what I believe will be the case which is both.
So PLD will perhaps be able to equip abilities from CNJ and MRD, but nothing else.

I wonder if the sub-class will be tied to the quest missions...man I hope not I don't want to rank my gladiator past 15.

I think the way it works is you need the primary and secondary at 30 and 15 respectively for the first quest. Once you finish that quest you unlock the job. The job matches the level of your primary class, which will be at least 30. After that the quests at 35, 40, 45 and 50 will be based on the level of the job, not any of the classes.

I know that, I kinda made this thread lol.

I was referring to whether or not there will be a requirement of level for the sub-class when it comes to the higher level quests.

By making it so the 35, 40, 45 and 50 quests are based on the job level, they can effectively make it so only the primary class level matters. Thus, you won't need to level the secondaries beyond 15.

Yes but the question Noctis was answering was whether or not we'd need to continue leveling the lower of the two required jobs to continue questing.

I.e. will the minimum levels be:

• CNJ30 GLA15 (Stone, First Skill)
• CNJ35 GLA17 (Second Skill)
• . . .
• CNJ50 GLA25 (Final Skill)

or

• CNJ30 GLA15
• WHM35 [i.e. CNJ35] (Second Skill)
• . . .
• WHM50 [i.e. CNJ50] (Final Skill)
