The argument that I was responding to was basically that if the devs made a certain decision on making Hrothgals more bestial then it’d be a ‘wasted resource.’ I was telling them it wouldn’t be since that decision might appeal to certain people. This has nothing to do with what I want and everything to do with not labeling whatever the devs want as a potentially ‘wasted resource’.

I know what you replied to
"If the females are another hunchback race, yeah, it's a waste of resources, there's not enough people to play them to justify the work."

They said this after going on about how they would like them to look like, and they are correct in assuming that a "hunched back female" would be highly unpopular. We've got many examples from other MMOs of how "hunched back beast females" are far less popular than their males (Charr for example, a race you pointed at). Saying "might appeal to certain people" means nothing, as I could say the same about a Dulia-Chai option. Devs are the ones who have to determine what is or isn't a waste of their time, but it would be a mistake to think that they don't ask themselves, "how many people would play/ like this? Does this look good?".
I don't believe the devs have made any indication that they "want" the females to look as beastly/ hunched as the males, so IDK how anyone could label what "they" want.

Unless you are a Square Enix shareholder, theres no real reason to wring your hands over a confirmed upcoming playable gender's resources. They've already been deemed "worth" whatever resources they'd cost.

We all know they're coming, discussing how the devs go about making them is something else. It could be someone's opinion that something added to the game WOULD BE a waste of resources, but if the devs add it then the devs clearly didn't feel that way.
Seems more like a convo of guessing what the devs would over "should" do to me, and it's clear what people mean by "wasted resources" which is what my post is about.
