Disappointed that private individuals can purchase housing plots in 5.35

It has been a very long time that people are making fake FCs of only one player to get around all the limitations involved with individual plots purchases. At least this time they will be less tempted to quit their legit FC to create a fake one only to have a better chance at getting a house.

Also FC houses are way more practical to resell at insane prices when you are a house flipper, by giving the lead of your fake FC to the homeless buyer, while you can not give an individual plot to someone without a house. FC house flipping being so easy, and thus house flippers hoarding them just to make big amount of money, is a big reason why tons of people can not find a house.

In short, FC houses are way less ethical than you think.

When the wards were added in 5.1, only a small percentage were claimed by new purchases by FCs. The majority of those in the new wards were previous owners, whether FC or private, relocating to get a more desirable plot. Even with that, there were plots still available on most worlds 3 months later when the private purchase moratorium was finally lifted. That was 3 months where houses could have been purchased but weren't because they were reserved for FCs who didn't want to buy them.

There simply isn't enough demand for FC housing to justify a private purchase moratorium when you end up with plots vacant for months while players who would like to purchase can't. FCs had their reserved opportunity and didn't take advantage of it. Now they can compete against everyone who wants to buy.

FCs at least have the advantage of having multiple members able to spread out between the wards to grab a plot fast once the wards open. Individual players can't do that.

You have at least a month for your FC to prepare to make the purchase. I suggest taking advantage of it to get your members organized and ready.

As for housing disproportionately reward those who craft and gather, houses are cheap. Any player who wants one can afford them by saving gil instead of spending it, even if they don't craft and gather. Map parties are especially lucrative for non-crafters/gatherers.

Players with more time on their hands will always be at an advantage compared to those with less. There's nothing unfair about it. It's like complaining that someone who only works 10 hours a week at a job doesn't get paid the same as someone who works 40 hours a week. They didn't put in as much time/effort so they're not going to be rewarded as well.

If someone wants a house, they need to stop making excuses and do what's necessary to be able to buy one.

No, that is not the reason. The reason why you see people selling FC houses is because you can bypass the random timer. If private housing doesn't have a timer you'll see the same issue with private houses as well.

The same rules still apply with the new wards, or anything that may open up in the wards that were there before. I'm...not really sure what you're trying to say here. The only difference is that they are releasing these new wards with immediate availability for everyone. All in all it changes nothing. Same system, different day.

Easy? Not always. Doable for most people? Very much so. They just need to know how. Making gil isn't hard, just time consuming.

Even the most casual of casuals with a busy schedule can make a fair amount of gil if they know what they're doing.

Ah, the elitism. I see the crafters and gatherers are coming out to attack me to try to secure their private housing and leave poorer and casual FCs in the dust.
