*sighs* Here we go again.
You are seriously lacking in empathy and sympathy. So please keep out of this discussion if you cannot contribute to it in a meaningful way. We are not all healthy and able to do this. As this thread shows. I shouldn't have to list my disabilities or my age, because that is a matter of privacy and fucking hell, none of your friggin business. I am younger than you think. We are not spoiled. I hope you never have to deal with a disability and then get treated this way.
The FFXV event was no problem for me. I was able to pass earlier QTEs in this game. This one is different. If I fail the QTE 9 times out of 10 attempts there is something wrong with the QTE.
Yes, that usually meant I could not continue a game and that is frustrating. How would you like it if you couldn't finish a game because of something out of your control?
Stop insulting us, stop treating us like we are worse than human.
Stop acting like other people's problems are a joke and stop acting like other people's problems don't matter. Feel happy and privileged you do not have to deal with the problems that come with disabilities and that world is built for ablebodied people like you. When you have a problem in this game you also want people to help you, don't you? This is the same thing.
We have just as much right to be here and play and enjoy this game. We are not lesser than you are. One simple modification of a mechanic in a storymode trial will not decrease your enjoyment of this game. And if it does, then you need to start asking yourself some questions.
Right now this mechanic is blocking quite a few people from continuing the story, which should be accessible to everyone. Stop being elitist gatekeepers.

"I don't know how to explain to you that you should care about other people."
Stop playing the card - we're so poor, don't treat us like that.
Most posts on this thread cause negative emotions for this reason. Because they're playing this card.
Do people have problems with this QTE because of their physical problem? You wrote it, we get it. I agree with you completely on the subject that or there should be a button to help you. Or the game shouldn't kill the band because of your failure. We need to told SE about that problem.
However, I will say for my part that this QTE is simple, and there was proof in thread that you don't have to press the button too fast. It's more about "aah, I can't do it and I don't want to listen to anybody" card.
P.S. No, i'm not threating people with healthy problem. Moreover, i have friends with that thing, and I proud for them, because they complete that challenge, or found a way how to make that easy. Problem in that thread, how people complaining about that in 70% messages.

Didn't I say that I listened to other people and that I tried their suggestions? Didn't I? I have tried many different ways. I have tried multiple times and tried different ways to do it. If I don't press it fast I lose to begin with. There, happy now? You have no idea how often I have tried.
I do not keep playing the card. That is discriminatory language, do you know that? I just have to keep repeating my message because people don't get it. Because of reactions like the ones I replied to. Because people keep bullying us with the "play the disability card." If we don't put attention to it then nothing changes. So here we are, bringing this to attention. Just like everyone who experiences a problems in this game brings it to attention in these forums.
I have never complained about anything in FFXIV before, I always found a way around it. This is the first time I am actually actively on this forum because I couldn't find a way around it.

"I don't know how to explain to you that you should care about other people."
You didn't say that we shouldn't bring attention to it, I give you that. But I felt I had to say it regardless. I just wish people would stop saying: ooh it's easy for me, so I don't get why it's hard for you. Why can't we just meet in the middle? "Hey, it was easy for me, but I understand there are people who have problems with it. So why not do something about that?"
I just wish people would stop calling us lazy and spoiled, because we're not. Just because we're not the norm or the majority around here, doesn't mean we don't matter. That's what I get from the people that say things like "get gud." And that's what upsets me.
Thank you to the people who came up with suggestions to help, thank you to the people who understand where we are coming from.

"I don't know how to explain to you that you should care about other people."
Well they already rezz people just for that mechanic so they could have done the same there too. Just make it so that maybe 6 out of 8 players needs to do it correctly and you win, thus nobody dies there. Or rezz them if they do die but with a bit of a debuff as a punishment. (Or maybe a debuff for the whole party instead of a wipe..)
Yeah and pushing that button is such a huge and immersive challenge that seemingly that single thing from that fight being "nerfed" is utterly dramatic and world changing to some that they need to call this a joke or people who fail lazy and other names..
I could agree if people complained about the other mechanics of the fight..but its about the one thing that was probably never that fun and now over the top and utterly punishing...for a normal MSQ trial..

I'll be honest.. my biggest push back is because I love the wipe mech. It's nice to have a bit of normal content that has a bite to it. Yes even if that bite is still weak. But it's better then nothing. And with this thread being here I'm getting Steps of faith flash backs and I just hate nerfing content. It's why people complain about dungeons being stupid easy mode as it is. It's why we have hallway dungeons, dumb down classes, and everything else that was nerfed. I don't want the wipe mech to go away, I also don't want the QTE to completely go away with no replacement. It sucks people aren't finishing the trial due to whatever is going on with them. But knowing SE they won't meet in the middle.. they'll just kill everything and make something that's got a tiny bit of bite until a meow and a purr. :c So that's why alot of people are pushing back, it has nothing to do with you but everything to do with how SE handles nerfs.
Monk upgrades
Here's a funny (not) thing. Every 3-4 pages or so there's someone with "you're not trying" accusations. Should people stop bringing it in and just read this damn thead to begin with, we'd never had the need to explain over and over that's no, it's not for the luck of trying this particular QTE is so frustrating.
Out of contest of the game, would it be nice for you if someone kept coming to you only to devalue the work you're doing while not knowing anything about it? Over and over again? For literal days?
This is literally all we ask: an understading of our point of view and a solution which will benefit everyone. Not a "bo-hoo, we're so poor, please pity us", but "hey, wouldn't it be nice to change one thing so everyone can enjoy the story, the fight itself and noone will be left out?" I just don't understand how hard is it to see?
