Well this got heated...
To be frank i didn't think much about the accessibility issue of these qte.
What really annoys me about them is just how much they end up breaking the entire mood of the fight with a cutscene, sound prompt and text prompt, without really adding anything interesting to the encounter. Especially not when the exact same thing have now been done multiple times. If they want to add some flashy intermissions to a fight, then just add it without slapping on an obnoxious feature that will one shot everyone...only to be followed by yet another.
I would have much preferred if these things were incorporated better into the fights than with interruptions. Like fight goes on, everyone gets moved to their spot and their cast bar gets replaced by a "vehicle" bar with whatever ability they are suppose to spam, or have the duty action pop up. No over the top text prompt unless the fight is a whacky one like most of the alex fights.

Thanks. I guess scroll wheel rolling ain't gonna work as well then, so I'm not gonna try it.
And exactly this. The trick is just too old now, and while I enjoy a re-use of an older mechanics when done right, I'm not a fan of this particular one. What really annoys me about them is just how much they end up breaking the entire mood of the fight with a cutscene, sound prompt and text prompt, without really adding anything interesting to the encounter. "The world is indeed full of peril, and in it there are many dark places; but still there is much that is fair, and though in all lands love is now mingled with grief, it grows perhaps the greater."
J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring
I do really appreciate people trying to come up with suggestions and trying to help think of ways for us to be able to pass this mechanic. Even if they don't work, or if they might only work for some people and not for others. It shows you guys are willing to see this from our point of view. Thank you very much for that.
"I don't know how to explain to you that you should care about other people."
On a related note, games with microscopic or otherwise difficult to read text, subtitles, and menus that were clearly all designed under the impression that everyone (including, presumably, their "quality control") is sitting 2 inches in front of their screens.Honestly incidents like this make me wish more gaming companies had people who experience chronic pain of some variety in their quality control process. Because this should have been an easy catch and thus could have been fixed with one of the many suggestions that have been tossed around in this thread.
This has been going on for years now and even otherwise bestseller games like God of War 2018 got flak for it to the degree that they needed to make an update for it. Why aren't game developers getting the picture yet?

Issues regarding disabilities and limitations are not easy to understand if one does not have personal experience with it. I get where people are coming from when they say it is easy what is the point. This is why I am in favor of an option to toggle it, sure it may invalidate it all together but for those who want to do it with the QTE or not should have the option to choose. I get it is an mmo and a sliding difficulty is not the easiest to put in place due to many reasons. Though it is the MSQ who really cares if they have an option that makes the whole MSQ a a cake walk from the begin.
I get the logistical issues and limitations and know it prob will not happen but yeah that is life
Yeah, I hate QTE.
Even leaving aside the disability issues, which are no joke, it's absolutely not fun, it ruins the flow of the fight and it's braindead. The faster finger in the west sounds like something that could fit porn better than videogames.
And now I also feel bad cause when we wiped twice due to that mechanic I thought "come on, just how hard can it be to smash a button, how are people even failing this??" without thinking of the people who physically can't do it.
That's why I'm bringing it to attention here. People all too often forget there could be a myriad reasons for failing such a mechanic. Most people, thank goodness, are healthy and don't have to think about how disabilities affect their lives or trying to find ways around those disabilities. But that does mean people all too often also think if something it easy for them it is easy for other people. In this game, you are not able to see people's disabilities. Most of the time in real life you also can't tell if someone is disabled when you encounter them. I look completely normal, but I am disabled.Yeah, I hate QTE.

So when someone fails the mechanic and keeps on wiping the party, be kind and supportive. There are human beings behind the character and you don't know why they're failing. And that's not aimed at you in particular, but everyone in general.I hope you don't take it as something that was aimed at you.
I do hope a workaround or adjustments can be made to the mechanic, so everyone will be able to pass it and continue the story.

See, these are the same people that wanted the FFXV event to be nerfed because they sucked so bad at it, instead of you know... getting good? Like, you're supposed to fail a few times at something before you get it eventually. Expecting to pass everything in one go is literally a child's way of looking at the world. Perhaps some of you are Elidibus in disguise.
Like...just pick two buttons on your controller to mash alternating between them, or two keys with two different fingers.
Legit how are you failing this?
but no, just nerf everything because you failed and you don't like that you didn't win right away and it wasn't easy as pie.
The argument of "It's not interesting" is more compelling, I can reason with that. But anyone who can't do this must be like 60 years old with arthritis or something.
How did y'all play games before that had this kind of thing? Did you just give up and not do it? lol.
