Honestly, in my opinion, it’s some kind of absurdity when someone, with all the severity of judges, asking a person with a disability, how much she/he tryharding, still talking about her/his lack of effort and laziness. And for what? Just to finish story quest. Not hard content, not savage. Not to find food or money, not to save people or yourself. Just finish the MSQ, in MMO's pixel world. Really? The only problem is speed, people with chronic injuries cannot press that fast. But your remark is just as great as the alternative

You don't have to press very fast at all. The time you get for each press increases the lower it gets. You can easily pass the mechanic with a very relaxed pace.

Strange because when a certain streamer did it (reacting only towards the end) and smashed the button for that it was not enough. Also hinsight is always easier. In that moment you dont know that maybe the display is "rigged" and that you can take more time or if you even want to take more time because suddenly you are beyond the point of the no return. (15 seconds are long but at the same time still quite short) And lets not talk about something like lagg..good luck beating it "slowly" if you lagg at the very worst time.

And how many of the people having problems with that will look at the forum to see how to beat it differently? How many will just suffer and then maybe even turn away from the game?

In the end all the QTEs before that were never that harsh. I never had such problems and felt a bit paniked about something like that before this trial.

I did that the first time I tried it, and failed. The only thing that worked was consistently mashing several keys and left mouse click. Maybe it’s a latency thing, I have no idea.

Input lag also doesn't help with this QTE. That also bothered me on a few attempts. I tried again last night because I was feeling pretty good, I thought I might be able to pass that QTE, but no. With a relaxed pace, even when I pressed several buttons I failed and my hands still hurt because I had still had to keep it up for so long. At the end I still had to speed up my pace and I still failed. It's pretty frustrating.

But I don't know what else can be said about this issue. As this thread shows, people are having all kinds of issues with it. Not even only disabled people. So I just hope SE and the developers look at this and adjust it a little, if that's possible.

I understand that people have dissabilities, and it sadden me that things like this exist.
But cmon, there is a guys that plays FF14 with his foot, because of his arm deformation. And i'm pretty sure he would be able to find his way around it. Ask friend, familly or someone to help you. I even did it with my nose just to test this.I know its not how it should be played, and what im saying may sound harsh but the world wont always adjust to us. There are people that acomplished great things while having some of the worst disabilities ever seen. That's why i wont accept fact that people want this to be adjusted to them, instead of overcoming this problem alone. If they cant find solution to complete 15 sec of game, then i dont want to even image how they will face problems irl. And no, im not against people with disabilities, i support them whenever i can. (im doing shopping for my neighbour that cant walk)

That is really cruel to say that, you know. My job made adjustments for me so I would be able to work, because they appreciate me as an employee and I'm doing my job well. They also have no problems when I need to work different hours because of chronic fatigue. This is expected by law where I live.

Your neighbour is not overcoming their problem. They need your help to shop. So why do you expect us to overcome this problem alone? We all live in this world together, we play in this world together. And everything would go a lot better if we helped each other from time to time. Your attitude and stance are not helping.

You think my family should be able to be at my beck and call whenever I play FFXIV? Sorry, but they also live their own lives with their own schedules and I live by myself. I have no problems living by myself, I am mostly able to do everything I need to do, be it at a slower pace and with more breaks.

It is a small thing to ask to have this one minor thing adjusted, in a story mode trial.

"I'm not against people with disabilities, but you guys just aren't trying hard enough" are two statements that cannot exist in the same space as one another. As someone with severe disabilities who can overcome the mechanics and be in severe pain because of it I don't feel very respected or supported by you or people like you who pull that condescending rhetoric while pretending to be an ally. Particularly when there are other people in this thread who do not understand what it's like to be disabled but were willing to sit down and workshop alternative mechanics that can make more people than not happy with the outcome.
