J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring
Slowly mashing something sounds a bit strange to my (non native) ears. Also you cant just do it slow. I watched Ethys stream and he went in slow (probably thought it was like the other ones) and died because of that. It was also the point where I saw that the whole party wipes for this one mistake. And seemingly you cant even tell who failed?
Also please dont assume its the same for everyone. For some it could be a problem and they have the right to talk about it. The only change needed is either to not make it wipe the whole group or to truly slow it down. I am really not sure why they felt the need to change it up to the usual QTE..
Wonder how many people would still be fine with it if they land in a couple of groups where one person is using this to troll..or maybe there is a time of bad lag.

I'm glad it works for you. It don't for others. You don't even need to read the whole tread to see it, just a few pages back. Time and time again people said "that don't work, my hands hurt", but everytime there's someone going "you just ain't doing it right", "you just not trying enough", "you're just lazy". How hard is it go grasp the concept that people are different and there's no ultimate answer?

Considering it takes a fair amount of button mashing...I don't buy that you do it "slow". It doesn't allow for slow button mashing. It might not be physically painful for me, but I can certainly see how it can be for others. I have heard, however, that spinning the left or right joystick might do the job so I may try that next time I get that for my trial roulette. That might be worlds easier for controller users.
The problem is that people with chronic injuries experience pain, from such a speed, or they are not at all able to spam buttons like that. But they can close savages and extrimes, because it is difficult, but without such compulsion to spam buttons

And the timing of GCD's in this game allows for 2+ second reprieve between actions that causes a lower impact on the hands. That isn't to say there aren't people out there for whom even that isn't painful. But for me personally I can do Savage just fine because it's a dance. I know when to press my buttons, know I can let my hands rest between casts, and as a SCH while there is oGCD weaving to be done it isn't so monumentally overwhelming that I don't get those brief moments of respite that add up over the course of a night. Still need to brace my hands with athletics tape and maybe pop a pain killer on particularly bad nights, but unlike this QTE I don't need to stop playing afterward to recuperate.
Honestly incidents like this make me wish more gaming companies had people who experience chronic pain of some variety in their quality control process. Because this should have been an easy catch and thus could have been fixed with one of the many suggestions that have been tossed around in this thread.

To be honest, we do not know whether the developers are testing their game solutions for disabled people or not. It would be really nice if they test this before launching the next patch.Honestly incidents like this make me wish more gaming companies had people who experience chronic pain of some variety in their quality control process. I roughly understand what they were trying to show with this solution. But, unfortunately, instead of uniting people with one game goal, even the usual discussion of this problem leads to conflict.
This is a wonderful game in which most of the story is about friendship and overcoming difficulties. And it would be great if the developers took this step, helping players who, for some reason, find it difficult and painful to perform QTE, simply by stopping to punish the entire group due to the failure of one person.
I know they did hire an accessibility consultant in January this year and an entire team in last May. But I wouldn't be able to say if they were consulted on this issue. I know I have written to the Accessibility team regarding this issue, but I'm sure if more people wrote it would support and strengthen our cause. So here is the link to contact them.To be honest, we do not know whether the developers are testing their game solutions for disabled people or not. "I don't know how to explain to you that you should care about other people."
I sent them a message with a detailed description of this problem, thank you for your aspiration!I know they did hire an accessibility consultant in January this year and an entire team in last May.
