Because that isn't the reason why people are vocally against this QTE. You're strawmanning and ignoring the things that people are telling you that don't fit your narrative.

There isn't a significant issue of people queueing this (or most things) and then just afking, other than for PVP, which practically encourages it due to its "rewarded win or lose" nature. Nothing like this was needed to try to "make sure" people aren't afking, and even then, what makes you think it's right to punish an entire group just because one person is?

I'd like to know what your defense is regarding the people who are trying to pass this QTE (and therefore, are not afking) and yet they still don't pass it, and the group wipes anyway. Kinda indicates to me that this mechanic is not necessarily doing a good job of weeding out the afkers (like you seem convinced is what it's for), just weeding out the people that for whatever reason can't spam button presses fast enough, and also weeding out anyone who is unfortunate enough to be partied with them, since they end up failing for no reason too.

Also have no clue what a QCF is supposed to be.

I'm not ignoring anything. I said what I'd do. Qcf. Quarter circle forward. The hadoken. Change the qte to that boom. Problem solved. If what you dont like is the wipe mechanic then we'll never agree. Cause as I've said. I like that. Let normal mode have some teeth.it has nothing to do with your narrative about me wanting to punish people with disabilities. And has everything to do with loving it has some teeth. The issue is the qte. Not the wipe mechanic. Change the qte problem solve. Least I think so.

People are (rightfully) asking for a nerf on this because one person failing a QTE should not wipe the whole group, period. No QTE in this game that I'm aware of has worked like this before, and this just opens the door wide open to 1) people who legitimately can't clear it getting harassed and bailed on because they're "holding back" their party, 2) trolls who will just fail it on purpose to be jerks until they're kicked, and 3) people who encounter someone in group #1 but think they're part of group #2, compounding the potential harassment issue.

Unfortunately, this is exactly what it will be if nothing changes. This is not a challenge, in fact, this is a moment that creates a lot of tension already.

As Fynlar says: Just admit you guys don't care about the people who can't clear it.

Conversations in the style of "I know a guy, he can" serve only one purpose, to devalue the experience and efforts of others. It saddens me to look at this, especially in connection with the fact that no one is immune from diseases or accidents.

I also ask this question. Prior to the release of patch 5.3, the entire group would not wipe if someone did not have time to press the button. Never. Now the developers for some reason decided that pushing people against each other due to failure is fun and cool. I imagine how many people who for some reason cannot do this, and just trolls who wipe the group for fun, I will meet on this trial, if they do not change it.

In a game that focusses on teamwork and getting through challenges together the worst thing to do is to pit players against each other (unless it's pvp). Already people who cannot pass the QTE are being verbally abused and kicked out of parties because the party keeps wiping due to the person's physical limitation and inability to pass the QTE. It only leads to harassment and people being excluded from what is essentially a required part to continue the story, which everyone needs to pass. And as RajNish says, there's the trolls who do it on purpose.

But we are not talking about trolls. We are talking about the first group of people, the people who cannot pass the QTE because of physical and mental limitations who vary in each person.

To answer the question: The only thing that would change would probably be hardcore players' feelings of accomplishment.

Thats the fun part, as far as ive seen you cant tell who failed it? i mean, god dam they gotta play a few months on NA/EU servers.... i dont wanna know how many ppl will troll once its old and they get bored >_>

Also all those QTE are gettin old, i do like em, but id prefer a certain order within a time limit or smt at least less spamy lol

...i mean, im using the shoulder buttons on my controller as it stresses them the least, i already killed most my bottons once and replaced the silicone pads, but all those QTE really hurt after time (at least if you get it for trials a while and farm the ex about 100+ times, plus whatever amount of wipes you get...)


Overall im not a fan of "oh one guy messed up, so you all die" stuff - imo, debuff us per failure so we can carry 1-2 or just kill them, but dont punish us in normal/extreme stuff like that, please.

The faster you spam, the harder it is as the bar gets higher.

Whereas at the lower end it's very easy.

But that's the entire point I'm making. My hands hurt like crazy if I keep having to slam my keyboard like crazy. Plus I'm on a laptop, I'd rather not break it. And it's not as easy as you make it sound, because otherwise people wouldn't have a problem with it. Please don't devalue the way we experience it.
