No, I don't think we are. We all play the same game, but we do not share the same community by any stretch. After over 130 total pages and a thread that had been deleted entirely, it's really just strawmen fighting other strawmen at this point.

Here's a suggestion.
If you're on one side of the fence, and you see someone not even attempting to do the bare minimum, and that makes you upset, please blacklist that person, leave the group, and do something else with your time. Don't even bother trying to give them advice, it's not your job or a cause that is worth fighting for anymore. Surround yourself with like-minded individuals within your lane via Discord servers or FC communities and discuss things like job balance, the future of our game, optimal playstyles/metrics, and other things that appeal to your side. Nothing wrong with that.

If you're on the other side of the fence, and you see someone in a instance or open world with a current tier raid weapon, ultimate title, hard to acquire mount, or anything of that level of investment, and they are playing/speaking in a way that you don't like, please blacklist that person, leave the group and do something else with your time. Don't even bother saying you have the right to play how you want, everyone knows that, it's a choice you are choosing to make. Surround yourself with like-minded individuals within your lane via FFXIV Facebook groups or Twitter and discuss things such as RP, screenshots, fanart, and other things that appeal to your side. Nothing wrong with that.

With enough time, we will have completely separated the two sides into their respective chambers and we will never have to have these repetitive discussions again outside of occasions where the two are forced together via content by SE.

You want to blame someone, blame SE for letting it get this bad in the first place with contradictory statements and game design.
