So it's all about the loot now? To get it as fast as the content drops?

Even if you're not competing for the world first, there are many subcommunities in the game that compete with each other on a less hardcore level.
Anyway, I fully support a staggered release for savage content so even sHC groups can take it easy and enjoy the MSQ without having to rush the normal mode raid and spend the afternoon of the patch crafting and gathering.

No. It’s about not arbitrarily losing 2~3 days of raid—which would happen if you released Savage on a Thursday or Friday after a x.2 or x.4 patch. The loot is secondary, really. What matters most for those who want Week 1 clears is getting as much prog in as possible. Not loot drops.
I only mentioned loot because it ties in with the weekly resets. But feel free to read more into my post than what I actually said.
I mean, you’d still get all of your content on time. This is a suggestion that affects only raiders—which, based on your comment, you don’t seem to be one. So why so upset?

I honestly don't want to read more into anything, I'm still just trying to grasp why you struggle that hard for a week 1 kill to find the argument to even go for it in your posts. If it's not for the loot, then the only thing you may get from a week 1 kill - if I understand it correctly - is a little prestige. You don't get an archivement, an special item or anything at all for your week 1 kill. And even that prestige in this community is nothing really to write home about, as there are still people faster and it isn't a world first kill or anything on the podium. So in the end, you are only doing it for yourself, rushing through the content and skipping through the story, propably exhausting yourself after a hard day of work just for the heck of it. For me, that doesn't sound like fun, but whatever. Maybe you think it's worth it, I don't know and I don't know why, but so far as I see it that's still your own burdon you're loading on your shoulders and no real reason for any delay at all. You have literally months to clear the content until the next one arrives, you can take all the time in the world for it - you just choose not to.
Personally while I don't mind a delay, I just don't see your point that much. We talked about it in our static too, before deciding just to wait two days so everyone can enjoy the story and prepare. But then again, I'm in a casual static with only two raiding evenings a week because of different work-schedules, so we don't care about a fast clear anyway.
And why would you want to hold back on content that is already ready for release? That's literally the first time I've heard that a part of the community asked to not release more content as soon as possible. Usually it's the other way around: If it's ready then what are you waiting for? Release it already so people can enjoy it. Why should anyone need to wait just because you have set yourself some exceedingly difficult tasks like a week 1 kill?

So that between story and raid I don't have to choose to sacrifice one of them. Why don't you ask the devs why they delay savage raid for 2 weeks if it's ready on expansion release? And why would you want to hold back on content that is already ready for release? How are we supposed to plan it when the recipes to craft the current 480 gear don't come out until launch day? How are we supposed to plan it in advance when SE doesn't even give us the date patch will drop until it is too late to request off at our actual jobs? Mid-February is not a date, it's an approximation. I've noticed my questions still haven't been answered.

You don't have to. Noone is forcing you. If you still do it then it's because you WANT to (and I still don't even know why).
Maybe it actually isn't ready by then and the devs are actually planning with those 2 weeks for designing the savage-content? I don't know. Why don't you ask the devs why they delay savage raid for 2 weeks if it's ready on expansion release?

I explained it in my first post a couple pages back. My only choice then is to do the story and fall behind the first wave raiders, or don't do the story for awhile. So in that sense, yes SE is forcing that choice. If I choose to play FFXIV as a raider who enjoys story those are my two choices.

The rest of our groups are forcing us.
The opposition to this suggestion is just mind boggling, especially since it seems to be coming from people who have zero interest in even taking part in the content in question until weeks, if not months down the line.

Yeah. That's why I too started smoking in school... not. Giving in to peer pressure is your argument now?
We're taking part in the content, also on week 1. We're just not forcing us to clear it on the same week it is released. The opposition to this suggestion is just mind boggling, especially since it seems to be coming from people who have zero interest in even taking part in the content in question until weeks, if not months down the line.

If you have set raid nights you arrange those nights too be free for two weeks with family and friends. Most people raid in the evening so thats what you would be freeing up. As for gear well thats going to roadblock you no matter you delay savage you delay the gear. Which means scambling on patch day to get any gear you need, its double a edge sword. Want to delay for story go for it but you will still have the gear roadblock to deal with.So that between story and raid I don't have to choose to sacrifice one of them. Why don't you ask the devs why they delay savage raid for 2 weeks if it's ready on expansion release?

Note: Taking advice from a players alt, is like taking advice from a voice in a dark room. Criticism is a two way street remember that!!
