The whole point is if you want to better your chances of a week one kill, you have to skip cut scenes and rush through Normal. maybe not the first tier of savage , but datamining was used for TEA to figure out a mechanic.

no, you don't have to rush. You choose too. at least be honest about it

I don't think thats the issue being contended with. The point is that players should be allowed to go into savage immediately, or as you put it - "rush", without being gated. You never responded to the fact that this is literally how it is for the first raid tier. So far in shadowbringers E1S wasn't time gated, Alex Ultimate wasn't time gated, but E5S is. So far it's actually the exception to the rule, why should it be? And why is it so wrong that people are asking for it to be?

You keep asking why people want to rush, why is it any of your business what other people enjoy doing in this game? People find competition fun. Besides, you never answered the critical question from my last comment, what do you lose from this change?

Great idea. People who want to be in that first wave right now have to sacrifice things like being able to actually read the story, which in a game where the devs want you to read the story is a shame. They have to rush around doing everything as fast as possible to try and be ready. People with work commitments and kids and such are just not able to take a day off to speedclear everything to be ready for it, excluding them from it not because of skill, but because of adulting.

Setting it back a week gives everyone a week to go through all that stuff and be ready, and puts everyone on a more or less equal footing for the actual race to start. As mentioned, they already do this in the first tier, by what, 4 weeks? A single week wouldn't hurt anyone. As a bonus, instead of having the clear race mixed in with attention on everything else, it would be the community focus on week 2. That gives the streamers and such a week to focus on all the other new stuff, and as soon as interest in that is waning? Boom, savage race!

It's a win all around, really.

The title sounds like bait, but the point is fair. Content is only fresh once and delaying the release of savage by a week would only be a benefit. The only drawback to it I can think of is crafters who rake in $$$ the first few days gearing up week 1 statics.

For 5.2, as for every other tier release, my static has to spend an hour blasting members through Normal Mode and skipping the story so we can raid. Skipping raid for the day skips a potential kill for the week and drags out gearing in the long run, and the fun of the lore + Normal Mode is sucked out for it.

    also umbrellas delayed so scree

As an ex world/eu prog raider who's still raiding with Entropy, I think it's a win win suggestion once you look at it with an open mind.

From a world prog perspective, delaying the progression race to a week after the patch lands gives me a clearer window to book time off work and make arrangements with the family. It also makes the preparation side of things massively easier, we don't need to have dedicated crafting teams who are willing to ditch their own progression to feed us fully melded gear and pots as we start on the first couple of fights. This also really levels the playing field for smaller teams without the resources and manpower that we have enjoyed over the years.

For the midcore teams that are still gunning for week one/two clears, as mentioned, it'll do wonders for allowing groups to avoid the strain of being forced to choose between a multitude of different options and approaches that not everyone may agree with, doubly valuable for people such as my self who are expected to jump straight into a raid after getting home from work. Being pressured to skip cutscenes sucks for everyone.

It doesn't need to be multiple weeks. One week, or even just a day or two would be all that is needed IMO. SE are well aware of the benefits of staggering content releases and this would just be an extension of that.

Why not delay it a month?

Or you can just commit to doing it day 1 if its something you want to do day 1.

If you want to compete for world first clearing, then you make the choice to do that. Waking up early to make sure you get your gear and consumables crafted, or paying for those, is part of it. If you want to do it casually, then do it casually.

Because this is something only “casual raiders” have requested before? This request was originally made by a well-known world racer. It is not an issue of “casual raiders”.

I just fail to see this as a big deal. I mean, being a week behind or whatever matters little to none in the grand scheme of things. Essentially, all you get it trivial bragging rights in a game. In my opinion, some of you really just take this stuff too seriously. Passion is good, but there's comes a point where, if you're not careful, it turns into an obsession. It's not a race.
