If SE's banning dataminers, can they finally go after RMT in PF?

The hell? Death Threats? Sounds like SE should be doing more than just banning if they have identified these accounts.

It's sad and equally terrifying that the same kind of people capable of stabbing and killing over a chicken sandwich are playing our lovely mmo.

It wasn't the dataminers making the death threats. Their accounts were not actioned for making death threats. They're just who SE decided to go after, apparently.

To be fair, we don't know what evidence they used for this situation. There may have been a link posted in game from the individuals that connected the game accounts to outside sources. It's a bit different if someone ties themselves to an outside source from in game vs someone outside of the game claiming to be them.

Well it was accounts of characters shown on those social media accounts that got the suspension email.

Also, the people advertising their RMT stuff in PF tie themselves pretty directly to the sales. All you have to do is click the discord link or DM their discord account to get their prices. All the GMs would have to do is follow the link and ask "How much?". I'd bet it would be far less work than SE's sting on the dataminers.

I know I make that sound bad, but I actually understand that the first is a bit more complicated to handle. While dealing with offenders within their own guidelines is far easier to control, and they only do an 'ok' job with that.

More or less seems to be the size of it. Also a bit back, they banned the accounts of that guy that was trying to make a marketboard website, while so many bots get left alone...

Well, I know it was said somewhere that SE seems to have their priorities mixed up; I just see it more in line with if you can flick off a mole, you will. But if you have to surgically remove it, then it is far more problematic to get rid of.

Hopefully that offers a different perspective.
