If SE's banning dataminers, can they finally go after RMT in PF?

It wasn't the dataminers making the death threats. Their accounts were not actioned for making death threats. They're just who SE decided to go after, apparently.

I know I make that sound bad, but I actually understand that the first is a bit more complicated to handle. While dealing with offenders within their own guidelines is far easier to control, and they only do an 'ok' job with that.

More or less seems to be the size of it. Also a bit back, they banned the accounts of that guy that was trying to make a marketboard website, while so many bots get left alone...

That’s possible so they’ve been using ex roullete in some of them though so that’s quite a bit of work to get an alt up

I kinda doubt that we can create dozens of fake dataminer Twitter accounts with fake screenshots using the name of someone else characters, and getting them all banned like that while in fact they did nothing wrong XD

There must obvisouly be something else. Like the dataminers saying ig they were doing so, and SE reading that in their logs.

Well, I know it was said somewhere that SE seems to have their priorities mixed up; I just see it more in line with if you can flick off a mole, you will. But if you have to surgically remove it, then it is far more problematic to get rid of.

Hopefully that offers a different perspective.

The hell? Death Threats? Sounds like SE should be doing more than just banning if they have identified these accounts.

It's sad and equally terrifying that the same kind of people capable of stabbing and killing over a chicken sandwich are playing our lovely mmo.

If they were to investigate all the rmt's in pf they'd have to get access to discord logs and that would open a whole other can of worms which would likely lead to a seperation between discord and ff14 permanently over privacy laws which i dont see happening.

SE imo really has some double standards going here.

So they do suddenly punish people while using information outside the game but when its about botting that does not happen? So can a person now just post datamining stuff under another persons name and change screenshots and that other person gets banned?

If you do that please go after everyone that uses ACT too. Because even though its not really allowed you still turn a blind eye if raiders who stream use it. Even if they use callouts with that. If you are deciding to enforce one part of the ToS, than do the same for everything..

Some people sell for Gil, so its not always RMT - and if its RMT then its private chats, not really worth to follow, you will hit too many false positives.
You just gotta keep all illegal or greyzone stuff off your character guys, don't talk ingame about it and don't place your social media in your description. xD

At that point look up their character name on the lodestone, if it's someone who doesn't have anything maxed out that's trying to sell runs in the PF, report them for using a loophole to get around your blacklist. It's disruptive and spamming.
