If SE's banning dataminers, can they finally go after RMT in PF?

Never really got why people get so mad at the sales in PF. No one uses PF for Expert Roulette and there's only like 3 tabs in PF that's even worth looking at.

Because when i open my pf window, i want to look at what players want to do. Not seeing the top of the list bloated with people purposely using the wrong category to advertise the fact that they are making big money selling something they know very well to be forbidden by the TOS. And in the long run, when seeing these unwanted adds nearly all the time, ending up thinking "so, how many did this guy buy his run ?" each time i see someone with this mega-ultimate-super-legend title and shiny weapon, instead of being impressed by the fact that he did finish such a difficult thing.

Since the latest bl changes i have never add so many people to it. It is such a relief to finally see my pf window purged of all this.

I guess SE really is gonna end up going out of business. If they're breaking their own agreements what's to stop them from false advertisement next?

I used to use it before. Now that I can blacklist the irrelevant spam, I've been using it again. I think they could do just fine if they placed their spam on the Other tab.

The bans likely have a lot to do with the death threats related to the world first clear for the newest Ultimate than anything else. I doubt SE is going to start revamping their approach to everything.

Its kinda sad. Those that went out of their way to post death threats will probably not have anything happen to them (and some posted on reddit that those were mostly JP players..) while those that use the datamined information to train a fight and to use callouts with another forbidden device while streaming it live will also not be punished..but those that just simply look at the data that is already on our devices are now...even with evidence from outside the game..

But of course streamers might generate more players so its seemingly fine to ignore them using forbidden stuff..either be strict with everything or turn a blind eye to all of these..

Yes, this over and over again... I mean, there is some tab for hireing ppl to kill stuff, so why do they have to spam? PPL looking for smt will... you know, look for it, ppl who dont care for that gotta look through all of that >_>

Yes those double standarts are annoying. Its why it feels smt rly stupid to even gather stuff considering some ppl just use a ton of bots... or hack their way to win.

I heard that RMT business does not go as well as it used to in FFXIV, it was affected by SE banning a lot of RMT accounts that hold large quantities of gils.

Something has changed in their office and they made already a lot of progress, i think the credit should be given to their anti rmt team.

Would be nice if they'd also start going after all those dozens of DoL/H bots that have gotten away with what they do for months/years on end without getting punished despite being mass reported and regularly complained about on the forums.

The lack of consistency with how they enforce the ToS is ridiculous, particularly because they had to dig deep for evidence to ban some of these dataminers and actually looked into outside sources instead of relying entirely on in-game information or the forums. There are veritable mountains of in-game evidence they can rely on to identify cheaters (Observing them first-hand, checking activity logs for amounts of items gathered/crafted, etc) but they seem to simply choose to not use it for whatever reason.

Only way to stop rmt sellers is just not have any players buy from them. If they did permanent bans also to players that buy from them might make others not buy from rmt sellers anymore from being afraid of being permanently banned. Maybe even fine rmt sellers and buyers for breaking toss.
