But I enjoy crafting and gathering and I hope they have some difficulty at the high end like they did back in 2.0 and 3.0. I don't want it dumbed down to be hit these three buttons and you are done (over exaggeration). Fine-tune them sure. Add some QoL and I'm all about it. I'll reserve judgement on crafting and gathering until the patch drops and I can see what they did and play around with it.

I get it that not everyone enjoys crafting and you know what? That's okay. Why do we have to gut it for people who don't like it? There are people who don't like to do Savage or Ultimate raids. Raiders would be up in arms if that was gutted so the people who don't like to do it can then go do it and just win. No, crafting and raiding are not the same as each other - totally agree. But there are people who enjoy crafting and gathering and don't want to see them gutted. That's why there are people who are concerned about it. Because there are people who actually DO enjoy the crafting and gathering.
Thank you for this post. It’s honestly very tiring seeing players come up with the top 3 most over used countered arguments to difficult crafting, ignoring general logic, and just being unreasonable about the whole thing. As crafting is now, delicate synthesis and prudent touch have GOT to go. Plain and simple. Either that, or nerf it.

We don’t want our crafting endgame to be reduced to a child’s game, there’s even a highly popular thread in the DoH section that addresses the issue with easy endgame, and why it is a problem. I’m sure SE has seen the thread by now, and is listening to us on the matter. So that’s great. I’m sorry, but if raiders get to keep difficult content, I don’t see why crafters shouldn’t get the same privilege. And a lot of it stems from jealousy of endgame/competitive crafters, and/or people whining about how players are earning a lot of Gil. Frankly, if these players put in more effort than you, they deserve everything they get.

I am a raiding noob, it annoys the heck out of me that I suck at it, but I absolutely refuse to complain to Square Enix nonstop because I personally find it too difficult. And ask them to nerf the difficulty into the ground, and essentially reducing it to a dungeon’s difficulty. That’s not fair to the hardcore raiders who live and breath raiding. I’m glad more people are speaking up about this, because it’s got to change. And you know what? Come 5.1, it might.

I welcome harder crafting but sadly theory crafters are going to break the system down and bring us right back to the same problem.

Agreed but there gets a point when asking a person to commit a crafting rotation for a video game to memory, becomes unrealistic and in the case of the macro rotations that point is far beyond what we will accommodate. It's even beyond the ability of the macro system in most cases as we need 2-5 to complete a craft.

I have 3 rotations macro'd 1 for 40 dur,1 for 80 dur and 1 for lvl 80 crafts thats it. They all do high quality and dont use skills like delicate synth or prudent touch.

You need to be nearly perfectly melded for these macros which only rich people can do. I went with the medium meld option and I can get by with 2 macros for each one.

Crafting needed some simplification. I think it will benefit everyone, and will encourage people to start crafting.

My personal opinion is crafting should be way more challenging and harder. Its a own profession and not just a nice to have side job like in most other MMOs out there.

I think it's already pretty easy, why does everyone always wants a guide or someone who hold his hand, are gamers today not able to use their brain anymore and figuring stuff out by themselves?

Making Crafting even easier than it is, is like asking making Savage easier so that even Non Raiders and not so good Players have a easy time. I don't like raiding but i can understand ppl that enjoy savage for the challenge and same goes for crafting.

Where is the fun in crafting if even Endgame Recipes are so low that every noob with a decent midgear (no you don't need a full overmelted Set) can easly produce HQ Items when using HQ Mats (witch are pretty cheap and easy to optain most times).

Yes i like crafting but i also want a challenge and goal thats worth optimizing my gear as good as possible and i want recipes that not everyone can produce because they need maxed out gear and a optimized use of your skills.

Every job quest on crafting feels to me like playing savage at 99th percentile.

Go to the DoH section and support the popular thread that addresses the absurd easy difficulty. The more awareness, the better. For all we know, SE is already prepared, and 5.1 will in fact make it challenging again endgame.
