    I've been crafting since the days of 1.0 (now THAT was some painful times in crafting let me tell you). I have no issues with making the leveling a bit simpler for people. I understand it can seem daunting to people starting out.There is a lot of redundancy in abilities as you level up and I'm okay with those being streamlined.

    But I enjoy crafting and gathering and I hope they have some difficulty at the high end like they did back in 2.0 and 3.0. I don't want it dumbed down to be hit these three buttons and you are done (over exaggeration). Fine-tune them sure. Add some QoL and I'm all about it. I'll reserve judgement on crafting and gathering until the patch drops and I can see what they did and play around with it.

    I get it that not everyone enjoys crafting and you know what? That's okay. Why do we have to gut it for people who don't like it? There are people who don't like to do Savage or Ultimate raids. Raiders would be up in arms if that was gutted so the people who don't like to do it can then go do it and just win. No, crafting and raiding are not the same as each other - totally agree. But there are people who enjoy crafting and gathering and don't want to see them gutted. That's why there are people who are concerned about it. Because there are people who actually DO enjoy the crafting and gathering.

    Thank you for this post. It’s honestly very tiring seeing players come up with the top 3 most over used countered arguments to difficult crafting, ignoring general logic, and just being unreasonable about the whole thing. As crafting is now, delicate synthesis and prudent touch have GOT to go. Plain and simple. Either that, or nerf it.

    We don’t want our crafting endgame to be reduced to a child’s game, there’s even a highly popular thread in the DoH section that addresses the issue with easy endgame, and why it is a problem. I’m sure SE has seen the thread by now, and is listening to us on the matter. So that’s great. I’m sorry, but if raiders get to keep difficult content, I don’t see why crafters shouldn’t get the same privilege. And a lot of it stems from jealousy of endgame/competitive crafters, and/or people whining about how players are earning a lot of Gil. Frankly, if these players put in more effort than you, they deserve everything they get.

    I am a raiding noob, it annoys the heck out of me that I suck at it, but I absolutely refuse to complain to Square Enix nonstop because I personally find it too difficult. And ask them to nerf the difficulty into the ground, and essentially reducing it to a dungeon’s difficulty. That’s not fair to the hardcore raiders who live and breath raiding. I’m glad more people are speaking up about this, because it’s got to change. And you know what? Come 5.1, it might.

    I welcome harder crafting but sadly theory crafters are going to break the system down and bring us right back to the same problem.
