Ignoring the people slinging vitriol here for a moment, I'd be quite on board with this idea. Representation is good.

Sure, but there's a point where the work involved (even from scratch) isn't worth the actual player use of a feature. This would be like adding Vitiligo skin textures. It would be awesome to have those people represented and go towards making awareness their particular challenges and normalizing their appearance... but it's 1-0.5 % of the population. A lot of work for a minimal userbase.

This whole topic is crazy baiting, nobody wants to exclude or hates nonbinary people. Sure we'd all love to include everyone and make everyone happy but this is a QOL for a tiny userbase.

The whole thread has just been virtue signaling and sarcasm.

This is going to sound how it sounds.

There needs to be a division in the LGB and the rest of the letters. I have no problem with the LGB aspect, some of the coolest people I know are LGB. The rest of that however, is not a group of tolerance. They are borderline militant in their rhetoric and are extremists at best. I don't want to know anybody from the rest of the letters for multiple reasons.

For one, whenever I see them trying to make a point, its just reduced to slurs. Cis this Cis that and alienation out the gate does not persuade someone to help see things from your point of view.

Many people of LGB's past worked towards making a more tolerant outside community for themselves. The rest of the letters? Forced acclimation to their way or condemnation. That's simply not going to work. This is a PSA for all of you to change your approach so we can potentially work together and not just be forced to appease you.

There's simply no way to escape that logic. If they're faking it, they're rightfully shot down; if they're genuine, they're wrongly shot down. But never ever taken to actually mean what they say.

And not this is not virtue signalling, it's genuine frustration.

Comments like this irritate the heck out of me. No, you don't get to throw out the 'No you're cis therefore your opinion is worth diddly poop because we know better.' No, it doesn't work that way. Stop and think for a moment. Remember that a lot of individuals who fall into this suffer from a myriad of mental illnesses such as depression, social anxiety, paranoia - the list goes on. No. No, you don't know better when you're in this state. Most of you don't have the faintest idea what's actually going on in your head or why you think this way, why you're sad, why your chemical balance is shot. Having the first-hand experience is good, and all but you do not know more than someone who actively studies or is a professional in regards to the topic - and you do not have any right to eliminate someone from the debate because they don't have it.

What your doing is the same as me going, 'you're white - therefore anything you say about the history of blacks is wrong' or going to a psychiatrist or a doctor and going ' I have depression, you don't have it. Therefore, you can't form an opinion regarding it or give me proper treatment.' Note, I'm black, and I suffer from depression. Not once have I thought something as idiotic as this.

People can form educated and logical opinions without having to experience it first hand. Most of us do in a lot of professions. Most of the STEM courses/professions do this, especially biology/medicine.

I guess anyone who hasn't been to space, had a certain disease/illness can't form/study or learn about these topics without first going through the NASA program or getting infected. Got to have that first-hand experience on their CV/resume. /s

When people say stuff like this which literally just amounts to CIS hate - you're not helping your cause. For example, any empathy I have for you just flew out the window as soon as you said it.

Every empathetic response isn't necessarily virtue signaling sure, I can concede that. Every single positive response is not virtue signaling. But when you've got a hotbutton topic such as allowing nonbinary people to present (or identify) as they wish where most people in their right minds wouldn't be against allowing someone such a basic personal freedom, anyone who stands against it for any reason (valid or not) is going to get absolutely flattened by people telling them about what horrible people they are. People line up , especially in the anonymous world of the internet, to dogpile upon those who have "bad" personal views. 21 Pages of it.

This topic was possibly made as an innocent "want" but even on the first page there are people anticipating the namecalling and shaming.
