Every 3-5 years is ridiculously often for a race that lives as long, so either they mate but no baby comes out, or the mortality rate of both male and female is depressingly high enough to balance it out - and since there are few males to begin with, only a few Viera will give birth (unless they go the Seeker route where a single male has fun with an entire village)

It's got to be good enough for an ENTIRE race of ladies to be like......I can wait 3 to 5 YEARS to do this again.
