I haven't seen inappropriate comments or pictures being posted like what you're mentioning, but then again, they may have been removed like you suggested. I don't agree with inappropriate comments or images. However, you need to be specific about who you're talking about. It's not fair if you're lumping ordinary people together with people who may have ill intentions. That being said, I don't think there's anything creepy about a hummingway male viera - it would be the same as lalafell to me. Regardless, forget about the hummingway - you seem to be ok with just ordinary slim viera, even if you don't prefer it. That's fine.
I have seen art with very big-eyed, young-looking "moe" faces but some people just... draw like that. (I, for the life of me, can't, so I'm pretty sure that folks who draw mainly cutesy things are (unfortunately) slaves to their style which isn't great if you're trying to draw an underclad man rabbit.) The vast majority of stuff I've seen currently (some of it with maximum anime face as well) has been different heads on some variation of this kind of body, be it a little bit slimmer in one or two areas (either the chest or waist, sometimes both, which is practically elezen). That being said, I tend to assume the best of intentions out of people unless proven otherwise. It might be a little naive, but I'm constantly surrounded by lalafell who are 100% only getting a kick out of the fact that they're essentially playing a murderous nendoroid.
In any case, I don't think kiddy viera will ever be a thing, unless they get a variation of the weird elezen... round head. It'll still be on an athletic adult male body, it'll just be... that head. (Please take the opportunity to look at the round elezen head in the creator for yourself, it's kind of hilarious.)
If there's something high I will definitely fall off of it
underestimate the amount at your leisure people kept trying to downplay how much outcry there would be if they announced gender locks in the gender lock thread(side note where the hell was the semantics thread when that was going XD) yet it was far bigger than most anybody in that thread imagined (the extreme people being the worst ofc)
Guy butt is best butt <3
I actually go to a ton of forums and platforms that talk about this game so I'm not just talking about this one hugbox that's still hung up about this.
See above. Before Fran was in game I was a mad supporter of Viera and looked all around for places to read people's thoughts on it, not just this forum.I mean, if you're going off forum requests
Only BIG game with a beast race that I can personally say I have exp with is GW2 ... where the Charr are basically played on par with every non human race. And THATS a game that will never add a new race as races actually mean something in their world ... and the Charr are the most beast race I know of seeing as they can run on all 4s. Looking at Wow where it seems they have a crap ton of races because of how they design things ... sure, the top 3 are human and 2 pretty human races that add up to like 40%. But all those other unattractive races make up more than half of players. Orcs are the 4th most played race, right behind the pretty people.Even if you look at the %s of beastmen played in other MMOs, they tend to be a minority and this is even in such games where they're better designed and have a stronger lore presence.
Given how many "Wow refugees" they are getting I'd say the devs were right to want more visual diversity in their last race addition. Not everyone is inlove with this weeb culture that's developed around this game.
I pointed it out to you already. Again .. the amount of time and money, man power, resources that they have to put into designing and supporting a new race will not be made up with some people buying a race change potion. There is a reason why they say this is IT for new races and why they wanted to make the Viera fans happy now as they can't say they are gonna do this again. A race is not content that keeps people coming back, it's a painfully expensive cosmetic option to the team.I don't know why you think race additions can't be profitable, though.
I'm a Femroe, started this game as a Cat but it didn't take long to convert. If they had never added Femroe would that have stopped me from coming back to this game? Would it have effected my buying habits? Do I play this game for Femroe? No. If they had not added any new race to ShB I'm sure the people who pay to play every month would still come back to play Gunbreaker and Dancer and the new trails and raids and dngs. The only thing new races add is visual diversity which helps people express themselves but it doesn't actually relate to cash gains like a Mog station Mount or an over priced emote does.
They're not based on Roe in the way you seem to think. They're large men but that's were it stops. As Yoshi said, gear will look much better on them because of their proportions.
Also, I find it funny how people bring up based models. Just look at how different a base model body can look in kurtzpel or B&S or BDO. The reason they don't think they can make any more than this is because of the outdated way they make gear and handle customization in this game.
A potion cost $10A race is Fantasia sales
The newest dances? $7 each.
The massively popular Fat cat mount? Like $28
Which is gonna be profitable when you think about the work that goes into these at face value?
Who buys glam FOR a race? I have never paid for glam just cause of how I think it would look on a femreo that I wouldn't use if I was a different female race ...and glamour purchases
You do realize that they don't care if you play ALL month, only that you keep paying for month after month right? By the very nature of alt characters you as a player can't really tell how people play them. Someone could just play their alt in their left over Sub time after completing what they wanted on their main and just leave it be til they come back to the game again and never spend money on said alt. I actually think that's the most common use of alts but only SE would know.and alt characters who means more game time
If it was actually profitable to make new races I am SURE that a company that wants profits would do more new races instead of going "Uhhh, we can only do 1 more so lets split them in half to make more people happy".
idk anything about what's the most profitable thing or whatever. All I know is that having happy players is a good thing, and I know at least 1619 and possibly even more would be happy to get male viera. It doesn't have to be in the new expansion's patch cycle, or in one year, or two years, or so on. I'd like to eventually have the option to play as male viera in the future. I know I'll have a lot of fun playing on my female viera alt, but I really want to main a male viera character.
I do want to say that I think adding male hrothgar and female viera was the best route they could have taken. There have been people requesting viera and a more bestial race for some time now, so I'm glad both crowds got what they wanted. I don't really care about female hrothgar but I want people to be able to play as a female hrothgar if they want to so that crowd has my support.
I mean if you're going by demand your anecdotal statements don't really mean much, unless there's hard source-able evidence like the official poll you can really make any sort of claim. I could say nobody wanted gunbreaker to be a tank and wanted it to be a dps because I've seen on sites that the game needs more dps.
Also even if a beastial race was asked for it's been seen by racial data that big burly races just don't get played very often in this game.
If you go by racial data the most profitable thing would be more of the same/make a cute small viera race with cute small males because Miqo'te both male and female are the most playable race. Nothing in actual active character data implies there's a demand for more muscular beefy races like the hrothgar. I mean even if you base it around male viera looking like tall au ra they would be infinitely more popular and wanted than say current male roes, so you can PERSONALLY believe that Hrothgar are/were in as much demand as viera and are more desired than male viera, but based off of both the racial poll and the current racial data I don't think you can honestly and objectively say that LESS people want male viera than the people who wanted Hrothgar/Hrothgar was a naturally more demanded race.
