You act as if this backlash hasn't already happened!

For a while, now, the "butt-sliders brigade" have noted that Au Ra aren't as "flat" in the trunk as the other races are. There was some bitter griping but nothing earth-shaking. The armor redesigns weren't as pronounced as they would be for Viera with digitigrade feet, but they were there, people noticed, and no update of old race models was forthcoming.

SE generally takes a policy of looking to the future rather than correcting the mistakes of the past. There are a few, rare instances where they go back and tweak something old (such as the forced cutscenes in CM and Prae), but for the most part they will not spend resources to change something that's already done. Redoing armor for Viera does not obligate them to touch up the older races - and while some will complain, life will go on.
