    How about no grind.
The game will soon have what, 18 classes? All with diferent relics. I say we throw that garbage of "mmorpgs have to grindy" out the window and we make faster and easier to adquire gear through all stages, making people truly able, in reasonable time spans.

    Oh wait, if you do that, where is the "carrot" right? How about this terrific idea of: I N T E R E S T I N G G A M E P L A Y.
But no, please, do fill a map with reused assets and grindy mechanics, those are clearly what people is asking for.

People is really missing the focus here. Eureka is bad, is awful bad. Not the diadem bad, but if this is the "extra content". Please just do better dungeons and better raids with more interesting mechanics and please, level geometry. Square and Circular plain arenas got old arround 2.0...

Guild wars 2 did that, I lost interest after getting 3 character to lvl 80. There was literally nothing to do. Sure game play was fun, but the game needs something to keep you there. They only thing they had was legendaries, and if you think relics are bad, man let me tell you.

Problem is: GW2 has classical classes, 1 class 1 character.
And yeah, in 2012 was nothing to do. Right now the game has about everything a good MMORPG has, raids, more than decent exploration, consistent and worthy patch notes with content, adds new maps as "escenarios" expanding the overworld each 2 months. There a lot of good stuff. And the grind is still there anyways. I wouldn't call a game where you have to bet against 1/1000 RNG chances equipment farmed through hours upon hours of gameplay "grindless", GW2 is one of the greatest grindfest that exist currently.

Is just, there is something else, like exploration, decent and fun level design, a lot more of dare to include stuff like obstacles, racing, gliding, flying, like, very connected to combat and progress, even in raid scenarios. Final Fantasy XIV has been making circular plain arenas for 5 years now.

I think FFXIV can make a "grindless", or at least a much less grindy alternative thanks to the armoire system without sacrificing the so called "drive" or "carrot". But needs to stop focusing on inflating item levels and needs to start focusing on making GAMEPLAY interesting. It was a huge deal we got Jumping moving from 1.0 to 2.0. It's useless. Or was, we need fights with jump mechanics, we need interesting level geometry, etc... Like, we got 3 axis of movement and we are only using 2 most of the time.

I will immediately jump down the throat of anyone trying to say this and say NO.

When you live on a different continent to the servers, any sort of jump mechanic is going to be the BANE of your existence. Throw in just a "jump to avoid earthquake damage", and then people will start saying "this is easy, give it a stacking vulnerability debuff. And then on savage, make it an instakill. What sort of people can't hit the jump button?"

    ... No. No jump mechanics.

Eureka is always going to be zero for me, because when I have a choice between Eureka, or waiting in the overworld for a queue to pop, I would rather go for the queue, because at least I have a chance of doing something INTERESTING.

Man, it doesn't have to be in like, Bahamut Ultimate and be so super strict and one shotty. Reaction which i think comes from this game insistence on insta kill mechanics lol.

No, but there could be soft duties that implemented a hella more "3D" you know, like, remember Twintania and the "valleys" of Bahamut's hand? A bit more of that, maybe jumping sections and "dancing" sections to spice up moving around dungeons or raids. And in case of them being added to fights, make sure they are things very "easy". And do not make lag look all that bad, i play from Chile and i can do most, all of content and i wouldn't mind a jump mechanic here or there...? As long as you don't link it with insta-death mechanics i think it could be done. Seriously.

But is just an idea, what i truly want is more 3D environment interactions and level geometry. Like a raid boss you gotta attack from kinda different levels of a same arena. Also, no more circles and squares, really, come on, seriously, come on....! UP! UP! Y AXIS! You can do it devteam! Look, above...! Beyond the heavens!!!!

Something like that, i think the idea get's across.

I have to be against any sort of jump mechanic in a game where the developers place mechanics on the server tick, and test things at -3 JP ping.
