I 100% agree that skill usage is also a problem but it's quite different. Gear is extremely easy to fix especially while you're lvling. Quests throw gear at you, dungeons give you a piece of gear when you finish them, and you can buy decent gear from npcs. The game makes it very easy to have proper gear while lvling.

You don't need any special class knowledge or a massive pile of gil to sort out your ilvl while lvling. Any idiot can do it and it can be fixed in a matter of minutes, so really there's no good excuse not to.

All content has requirements, even casual content. Just because something is casual doesn't make it okay to be lazy at the expense of others. Casual just means the requirements aren't high. Not that the requirements are merely a serving suggestion that can be ignored.

The only example you're setting is "if we can just all be nice to each other that will somehow make bad gear less bad". I'm sorry but that's not how the game works.

I completely agree that we should all be nicer to each other but part of that is being respectful to one another...and knowingly queuing while having bad gear that you know you can easily fix is disrespectful. That's basically saying "I know I can easily be better prepared but I cba".

OP said he was a veteran from ARR and claims to know the tank role really well. He's well past the point of the allowances that can be made for a novice.
I really don't know how I can spell this out anymore, its capital that people understand my position on this its not like we're speaking in code lol.

Not involving gear giving everyone reliable BUT intelligent thoughtful caring help: its key.

Just evaluate what scenarios are realistically eligible. Fun and Games! Support! : This is whats important.

More-over reading over her assessments some noticeable ideas come easily. Tanking in tank stance: Would probably help

I think my message is pretty clear don’t you?
