Had it not been for this event, I would have never known that these things existed in the first place honestly because I'm not a 1.0 player. I can understand both sides of the playing field: the ones that want their virtual achievements and exclusivity to stay where they are vs. the others who think it's fine and that they had their limelight for 5+ years and it's time to let things go.

No one can take your own personal achievements away from you and if you earned those earrings because you wanted to prove something to yourself, that's fine, you go get 'em. But, for the ones that merely wanted those earrings to lord it over others? How does that work out when a good portion of the playerbase back then and the new ones coming into the game as of now had no clue that they existed in the first place? How can you lord an achievement over others when no one remembered or knew it existed in the first place?

I mean, I won first place in a state-wide art show when I was in 5th grade. There's literally no point in bringing or lording that achievement over others when no one even remembers or knew that it happened several years ago.

An achievement should be for yourself, not because you want something to brag about and hang above other people's heads that you're someone better than they are.

The 1.0 people who have the earrings can honestly say that they beat an exceptionally hard fight during those times and be proud of that. No one can take that self pride away from you ever. No one.

The people with the earrings now can only say that they did a 15 minute event of pressing [X] over and over. Myself included probably if I feel like actually doing the event that is.
