Comparing apples to orangesI'm not a legacy player and I don't care theoretically about things being limited. I've helped all of my FC mates go back and get their ponies and birds and will help in the future with wolves and savage mounts like the alte roite.
What I do care about is precedent.
If you pre-ordered ARR to get the Cait Sith minion which was advertised as the exclusive way of getting that reward, and SE came back after 5 years and said "well, we're selling the minion now for $10 on the mog station", that's kind of terrible. For everybody saying "who cares, it's just a pair of earrings" - now that they've given the earrings out, who says they won't put the legacy tattoo up on the mog station?
It's a slippery slope argument, and in the end, I don't think it's a massive red flag. I know we already can't trust 50% of what SE (or any business, bc business) says. They've already crossed lines with the moogle outfit, and I feel like it's already a sinking ship. But this is the reason I understand why people are upset.
I don't care about the exclusivity. I just want SE to honour its promises.
SE never stated those earring's were exclusive legacy perks like the mount, tatoo and reduced sub but rather they became exclusive because 1.0 was so bad the content didn't exist anymore.
