They can pick and choose what remains exclusive, actually. They have no obligation to add older items to the game...but they also have no obligation not to add older items to the game.

As for PvP rewards, one can make the argument that they should be unlocked over time similar due to the sheer amount of win trading, boosting and throwing that exists in ranked PvP in the NA/EU datacentres...but that's a separate discussion for another thread.

I know that. But again if they somehow can throw such items into a event then no other exclusive item has at least a good reason to stay exclusive. If they do that is another question but again there is no good reason anymore why not. And anyone arguing that their mount shoud stay exclusive also has no room to argue anymore because why should theirs stay exclusive if others dont?

Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

I have been a longtime proponent of making previous PVP Feast Rewards available again -- but only after something is done about the stagnant cesspool of win-trading, boosting and leaderboard-alt-clogging nonsense that goes on there. At least cheating (in Feast) seems to have been getting a lot more attention from the account review team since the Tournament. There's a long way to go through and it really feels like the pool of PVP participation is getting smaller and smaller.

I'm anxious to see what will happen after Season 10. Will they recycle the old rewards again? Will there be another dust-up here in the forum because "You didn't earn that back in 2.x/3.x when PVP was HARD!" ? Probably.

We don't know yet, maybe we do fight Nael. Maybe 1.0 Nael too.

I've had these earrings glamoured on all of my jobs since the addition of the glamour system, so there are some of us that definitely still care about them. Now, I'm not against the earrings becoming available again after these many years (and I would've been okay with this happening a long time ago because I think time-limited rewards are dumb) but I am very much opposed to the way they're being re-added to the game.

The earrings were meant as a reward for defeating the ultimate encounter of 1.0 and they've now been reduced to seasonal event fodder. Couldn't they have at least been re-added as a reward for defeating one of Darnus' many current FFXIV incarnations? Clearing min ilevel T9S, doing x kills of P2 of UCOB, or a low % droprate from regular T9, it's not like there aren't options. The least they could've done either way (like many others said) is renaming the version that comes from the Rising.

I've said this before but ultimately what I'm really bothered by is the lack of consistency in this game when it comes to exclusive rewards across its modes. Raid PVE rewards are handed over to everyone over time, and the community tells us to suck it up and stop being entitled... meanwhile Feast PVP rewards remain exclusive forever and we're told we should've grabbed them when we had the chance and to stop being entitled. How hypocritical.

Have we mentioned the fact that this is only happening after five years yet? Aka half a decade, aka 1826 days, aka plenty of time for you to have literally been killed multiple times over in thia chaotic world, and chances are a significant portion of the people who played and earned this back then probably have died? Cause I don't think we've stressed that enough. That is MORE than long enough to enjoy your "exclusive" time and get your jollies.

My friends, this is a VIDEO GAME. These rewards are digital and not redeemable for any cash value. When SE takes the servers down and moves on to the next thing, these will be gone. That is to say, stop having a cow over literal worthless trinkets. I've got plenty of prestige achievements just like the rest of you in games with far worse grinds. If they made those things gimmies for the common man I wouldn't give a damn because my memories are still mine. The true reward is always the journey to the end instead of the end itself. The idea of even having some exclusive item to lord over people is the most ridiculous concept I've ever heard of, especially in a damn video game. It's one thing to work hard and enjoy the fruits of your labor; but to do it just to rub in people's faces like your turds don't stink? Nah fam, get over yourself.

Life is too short to be whining over somebody getting some silly ones and zeroes on a PlayStation or computer.

I'm really sorry you can only find value in physical objects and can't see meaningful emotions towards a digital happening.
People, real people worked hard and long to achieve an objective. To say it's meaningless because it's digital is a spit in the face to those that were there, enjoying the game, playing it.

It's not meaningless to the person who did it. But in the grand scheme of things, it has no meaning to anyone but what you attach to it. And expecting others to have that same level of meaning as you do is a very difficult if not impossible expectation to set.

As an example, I greatly value the Nidhogg weapons because that fight took me, personally, some time to master because I don't have much in the way of depth perception. This made the fireball phase nearly impossible. Therefore, I needed to make adjustments to the camera and really rely on muscle memory and such to discern the depth of the objects. I practiced and practiced that fight and kept improving to the best of my ability. Getting those weapons at the end of that fight was a sign of my personal victory and triumph.

Probably come the next major patch, these weapons will be craftable. They are now easily obtainable in the fight itself. Their deep and significant meaning carries something only to me and I'm not going to forget that, even if they can be made in the future with a few clicks.

I get what you're saying, but it's SE who put this so called "value" on it in the first place. They said it was a limited event, along with all the other 1.2x stuff. The Nidhogg weapons were just added into the game, they never said they were going anywhere, or they were going to be exclusive. No reason to get mad about that, there was no expectation set like the legacy content.

If a company puts out a Collector's or limited edition that was only going out in 100 units, and people buy into it, then later they print the exact same stuff again. I think most people would feel cheated. Not entirely the same, but the principle of it anyway.
