You sound like a robot or an alien experiencing humanity in the third person where the importance of social acceptance is far greater than any point to be made....it's fine really. I don't see any need to condemn or try to convince the quoted. There are far more people like the quoted than you and I; our empathetic mindset gives a massive advantage in every social situation; this is especially true for work place politics (aka. getting more monies.)
Besides, pointing out someone's flaw will do nothing but force them to strengthen their position. At best it assuages our egos because we're seeing something they don't and are pointing it out.
