So they found it to be a better approach to campaign a year long crusade to demonize & slay ACT than to admit they were a mediocre WHM? I think I just died a little inside. They hold a year long grudge over ACT because it showed how inefficiently they played WHM; once insisting you must use Cure and Cure II because that was how the devs designed it. Have a good suspicion they were called out and instead of improving, blame ACT for everything.
It's incredibly abhorrent to see someone conflate nudes of generic video game characters with actual cyber bullying, the likes of which ends lives.
Please get help. This behavior/topic is a red flag, a stop sign recommending against allowing reality to slip even further from your grasp. You are not your character, not unique. Not recognisable, none of our characters are. They cannot be. Especially when wearing nothing. It's impossible for someone to harass another person via taking racy pictures of their in game character and posting it elsewhere. No one would have any clue who they are looking at.
One could post a picture of anything and claim this is x or y person. It's unprovable and meaningless.
If someone posts pictures of actual you without consent then that is another story, but wake up call: Not only are you not your character, it's not your property, it's Square Enix's. You have no foundation for your complaint, it's just evidence that you're slipping. Slipping hard.

Can we be friends?
I wanna say I remember version 1.x of FFXIV having that same warning when starting up the game, and it apparently didn't make it over to 2.0+.

I don't care about people using mods but if someone is deliberately trying to take and show others pictures of your character with nudity to antagonize the person that most certainly is harassment. It's incredibly abhorrent to see someone conflate nudes of generic video game characters with actual cyber bullying, the likes of which ends lives.

Wow... I don't even... Talk about living in a bubble. You asked. Don't ask questions you don't want an answer to.
Modders ruined games I liked playing. I see this happening again, and people defending tools like ACT FFXIV Plugin don't want to admit that they are cheating, and when they ask for hard content, they don't get it. Players who play the game legitimately need to be able to complete content without using those tools.
Nothing changed with ACT in it's core. Still parses combat data. You could use it for triggers but that's been around for a long time i believe?
In fairness, based on what OP presented through the first four or so pages of this thread, there's no evidence whatsoever of people using nude character mods in this fashion. That said, obviously you're right - but I'd also point out that nobody needs an ERP mod to harass someone. There are any number of ways to antagonize another player, and the general resolution for all of them is enforcing rules of conduct the relevant platform has, be that the official forums, Reddit, your FC's website, or FFXIV itself.
The feel I get from this thread is that people are attacking a mod because it's a potential avenue for harassment. It's a misguided approach, akin to saying we should ban profanity and other words that can be used in a derogatory fashion.
I'm surprised this thread is still going.
i can understand if you have a picture of yourself in facebook then someone take it and photoshop it nude or something.
but in game? excuse me those are pixel, the avatar is not even you, how can you be offended by that?
its like someone standing beside you, staring your clothe for a minute and you get very angry and offended because you said "you just stare at me imagining me naked!!!"
whats this? video game version of "dehumanizing stare" aka "dehumanizing mods"?
i dont buy this, op must be trolling.
and for the record if you got offended by this, by all mean never ever touch VRchat
