And that thread (currently) only has 15 upvotes and 21 comments which sounds to me like it wasn't widely reported. I never knew about this until it blew up early this week. If you're willing to try and tell it to SE through twitter DMs, Facebook DMs, and in-game GM reports, why not the forums? Or even take it to General Discussion like most tend to do or even ask? There's obviously been some screw ups in getting the information back to the dev team, someone or some persons are in some trouble.

Because a lot of people are banned from the official forums and have been for years. It's not just a meme, when the game started, people got permabanned left right and centre from here.

Outside of this website, the official forums themselves are seen as a hot mess of misinformation, crying about parsers and most recently been a topic of LULZ due to the "please get rid of enrage thread". It's very hard to take these forums seriously.

So the person in question has tried other means, for whatever reason, including in game as per the post. In-game reports especially you'd think they'd notice. But they didn't.

I don't know but I seem to still be riding by on the forums following simple means. Though I'd probably be permabanned next considering that I'd received a 10 day suspension when I made that post about someone submitted paid art to one of the FanFest Art Contests. Still, whether or not it's that easy to be banned on the forums or in-game, people have friends that can post as well. People are saying this was well-known but the amount of "What I didn't know?"s and the swift response of people jumping on it gives me the impression that it was the opposite.

Or it is new and the report 4 months ago is a cheat, different method, we don't know.

Buddy of mine got permabanned for offering to cover world transfer costs in his recruitment post a few years back. Wasn't malicious or anything he had no idea that was a permabannable offense. Nothing is safe here. Pretend you're not talking to adults and only preteens parents.

I dunno man. If I went to all the effort of contacting GM's 3 - 4 ways to report a hilariously easy exploit and got ignored I'm not going to ask a mate to do it for me. I don't blame a guy for giving up.

I wouldn't blame them. Just saying that there are ways to still make it known. Obviously does not absolve the team for failing to filter this back to the Dev team.
