Probably not an issue in Japanese servers therefore these exploits don't exist. How about this one:

I take it he's still looking into it because nothing was done about it and the player carried on playing until... he got banned for toxic behaviour.
What about the Ruin 4 hackers? What about the Pomander exploiter?
Square Enix have had a history of not punishing cheaters.
I heard about the bug last night and tried using it once in a dungeon to confirm whether it was real or not before opening the support desk to report it, but I couldn't get the support desk to open. Worried if this post means I'm at risk but surely there will be a separation for people who abused the glitch?
I heard a rumor that there's a way to get Ungarnax to cast with a specific class now, and I can't test it myself but I've already opened the support desk and reported that just in case.
I doubt it.
Someone mentioned the mass Salvage ban in FF11. The game never fully recovered from that. Most all those players never came back. SE must have realized they just took a bite out of the hand that feeds them.
How did you not abuse the glich in your opinion, if you were intentionally using it in game content?I heard about the bug last night and tried using it once in a dungeon to confirm whether it was real or not before opening the support desk to report it, but I couldn't get the support desk to open. Worried if this post means I'm at risk but surely there will be a separation for people who abused the glitch?
Funnily enough, that game is still running now, almost 10 years later.![]()
Actually, PvP cheats are often reported on JP servers too, but nothing is ever done.
I'm glad to see the response from the development team. And as a software developer myself, I can attest to the fact that sometimes you get requests and there's a mention of "this has been going on for months" and when you ask them they say "I posted about it on <this thing the developers have no access to> but it never went anywhere". And it is often something that I'm like WHAT THE FUCK and fix immediately once I know about it. I can completely empathize. Someone either purposefully suppressed this or badly mismanaged the communication. Unfortunately, those people don't always face any sort of consequences either from position or influence in the company. So the circle repeats itself.
It does not have as many players as it did, or could have sustain for a longer time. That was my point. Punishing a player for a developers bad coding is not how to do it; most companies have figured that out by now.
This isn't even a 3rd party program issue; it's a straight up bad code issue. I would be surprise if anyone is punished.
Add: It does throw a wrench into the whole "I'm bad ass for doing raids" group. Like sure you all are.

I only heard it as a rumour so I gave it a try near the end of the final boss in my morning expert with three friends before work, to see for myself before wasting time with a dud bug report. Should I have filed a bug report without even knowing if it exists?
The use was intentional, but unknowing. The intent was to verify that reporting it as a bug wouldn't be a goose chase to the GMs handling it.

What is actually amusing is the players that preach and get pissed off about ban hammers when they were using something they knew was cheating. Yoshi should ban them all every time.
