I am disappointed in SE A LOT lately myself, I will admit this is an amazing game and i love each expansion greatly, however there is no reason that the players should have to backlash SE to get them to do their job and give us quality we PAY FOR MONTHLY. There are great suggestions coming to SE every day but the communication is junk on SE's part because half the time they listen its only after there is a huge backlash from the players about a really stupid decision SE made. Some of these things are common sense too so it amazes me how SE can screw up so badly sometimes. Then there is always the typical white knights that jump to save SE for everything SE does wrong. We pay to play this game we have a right to criticize the dev team and such. Every time SE apologizes for something they could have avoided it in the first place if they just listened to their common sense and the communities input ahead of time. A lot of the mistakes SE takes backlash for are so obvious. Lately i have been considering quitting myself with TERA coming to ps4 and free to play games getting more and more popular every year...i just don't see the point paying for a sub for a game where feedback is almost useless. Some FTP games may have bad communication as well but at least you don't have to pay for that part of it. Well anyway i have about 90 more days of sub left i guess i will use it up and see how things play out first. Lets just hope next time a huge backlash happens instead of another blank apology like always they will use that time to take action and change themselves for the better and not just SAY they will and not act upon it. Yes i know i sound very heated and enraged right now.....but ask yourself. Is it not warranted at this point for people to be ranting. I feel like its warranted.

If SE is going to keep up with the unskippable cutscenes, aside from bringing up the typical roulette rewards (gil, tomes, exp), they should also make each successful Main Scenario Roulette run count for the SB tank mounts whether it's daily bonus or adventurer in need.

I really want to see what they do after they increase the rewards, I am almost certain the roulette will see a few more changes. I am curious to see how Square will react once they start noticing this behaviour with premades.
Exactly! They have already said the rewards will be increased, and you know, the more worthwhile it is, the more it will encourage this behavior.

I bet SE will be like "Oh look more people are running the roulette, our statitics show it."

All the while, people will be right back here again whining about newbies getting left behind again.

I am laughing now, SE is going to try all these changes to force CS viewing only to wind up at the same problems.. (this is how you define irony)
They really needed make a small change back in 2.0 or even hw, or even 4.2 if they feel the change was suddenly needed, of a smaller step, giving a warning about having long CS like any other duty (be it solo or w/e)and tha it may be best to form your own group with friends iff you want to enjoy the story better.

All we needed was to test the waters with a pop up warning as you queue for the DF, Not this forcing CS on people only to lead to bigger problems by using a d/c method to get around things.

So figured as much as I've bashed it, I decided to grab some popcorn and run the roulette. Got Praetorium, where a normal run took less than 10 minutes before lasted exactly 50 minutes. There were definitely new people, so there was a bonus, but a Samurai and one of the healers were determined to rush. What surprised me though was that between the cutscenes and all the newbies there, it actually felt fun to do. It didn't feel like something to get over with, but rather something more engaging despite the semi-underwhelming story and the disconnect of the voice acting coming halfway through the run. Even with all the newbies in there, you almost had to pay attention to mechanics in there. It felt good running that dungeon like it was meant to be run, and an overall decent experience.

Does the reward make it worth running though? Oh hell no. It needs way more than a combined 300 poetics.

Boy, players sure do have a hard time understanding the concept of "go run something else if you don't like how long this takes", don't they? It's like dealing with a bunch of children.

Either way. SE. Why do we have to find ways to brake your game for you to make worthwhile changes to it.
It was already broken for newbies. Now it's not. Everyone else has a large number of other options.

After admitting the failure of these two dungeons, nothing is done, except for inconvenience a good percentage of the player base that was causing no issue, and take away any choice we had in how we wish to progress the story at this part of the game...
Do you even know what the problem was? A "good percentage" were in fact causing the issue by putting their own desire to run it fast over new players. SE's made it pretty clear: if you don't want to let people watch the cutscenes, do not do this roulette.

I don't see what is so hard about that, but now we have players trying to find newer and more creative ways to cause problems again.

I'm not disappointed in the player base, I'm disappointed in SE, and I hope these dungeons continue to inconvenience them until they stop the lazy approach.
You're not disappointed in a player base that advocates disconnecting to screw newbies over more reliably? Really?

I tell ya, some of the absurdly hyperbolic player reactions to this have turned me against them. This was nowhere near the best way to fix the problem. But seriously, people. You sound like spoiled brats upset that dad said you have to play nice with the new kid.

There are newbies who couldn't care less about the story, and there are alts of people who have already seen these scenes before. And then there're the newbies who'd like to watch cutscenes, but at their own pace, which could be faster or slower than what SE set. So no, it's still very much broken for all these people and no one has an option. Before, it was a hassle, but newbies could get a party and watch the scenes at their own pace. That's what I did and it was amazing. Now, I can go in there on my level 70 unsynced and still have to put up with it. This is very much broken, just in brand new ways.

SE's made it pretty clear: if you don't want to let people watch the cutscenes, do not do this roulette.
SE is also trying to push the responsibility for this horrible design on the players when they themselves have never implemented anything of this style since. This is not how it should've been fixed and people can tell us not to run it until they're blue in the face, you NEED people queueing for it so long as it's a party duty otherwise those first timers whose experience you're defending (many of whom don't even care about the cutscenes) won't even get in the instance in the first place.

Telling people who mostly don't know what they're doing is not a fix. It's a cop out and godawful user experience design. They will never do that.

No, they own that the design is bad. Which is why it's never shown up again. Players brought this on themselves by acting terrible to people who did want to watch the cutscenes.

We're at what, 3 weeks now? Queues are still moving and newbies are still getting it done. Still waiting for the predicted apocalypse. At this point, predicting it means less than nothing.

The only people still complaining are people who still think this roulette exists for them to speedrun for XP. It does not. Accept it and move on. You'll be a lot happier.

Here's how you fix the MSQ.

Slash the damage and HP of the enemies and make it a solo instance, there your done.

Not predicting the apocalypse, but it seems SE is unhappy with things as they currently stand as they are already looking to amend rewards. I would assume that means that the veteran participant drop off is more than they wanted.
