The only reason why you get so much EXP from MSQ roulette is because of the cutscenes other wise the dungeon would be so short you probably would get almost none.

I'm not sure what the complaint is, when you consider the main three types of players encountering this:
1) Those that find this far too long to sit through for the reward and value efficiency- but people keep saying there are faster, more active ways to gain equal rewards, so the solution for them is to not do this one thing. SE has provided an alternative, which is all they really can do. If the CS were removed, the need for an incentive is gone too, and the rewards would certainly be reduced, which means this group still wouldn't do this.
2) Those that simply do not care for story- true, this is most unfortunate for them, however having to sit through it once is a mild annoyance.
3) New players, those who want to see the story, and those who think the rewards are worth the time- in particular those new to the game. This is the finale to something you've spent dozens of hours working towards, and it's a truly epic finish to that. When you consider that this is the main target of the main story quests (which, really, something called a 'story' quest being focused on story makes perfect sense), I do think that the primary audience to try to please should be those interested in the story. Now, not ALL content is going to be focused that way on CS or the storyline, so far I've seen very little where CS during the dungeon run more than a couple seconds for the entrance and the boss. But, this content is and I think should remain so.
I'm just not sure why, if someone does not want to do this content, and the rewards are more efficiently obtained elsewhere, this even is an issue? Those that want to go fast fast fast have alternatives, those that want story have this- taking this away really only hurts one group while likely reducing the rewards and thus making it not worth it to the other.

Wow, that First Page lol.
The Time it takes to get through The Praetorium isn't that bad. Just Watch some netflicks or Do SOMETHING else in the background while the unskipable Cutscene plays out.
If I remember, they said they buffed the EXP rewards to compensate for taking away the ability to skip, and Ill tell you what, 4 - 8mill exp is nothing to sneeze at. I think its a good tradeoff. Your almost gurentee'd a level.
The Castrum Meridianum should be Buffed tho, that place gives barley 2-4mill exp
I know this from raising all of the Combat CLasses.
50+ minutes isn't bad? Compared to the 15-20 it used to take? LOLwut?
So.... instead of PLAYING THE GAME, go do something else instead of PLAYING THE GAME? And you don't see the problem here?

They really should've made those solo dungeons to begin with
I mean come on, how did a raid with 40+ minutes of cutscenes get past play testing? Who thought that was a good idea? Who approved it????
This was a band-aid fix to bad design choice and it's really kind of a shame. Oh well. This is the queue I run when I'm half asleep watching recipe videos at three am now. :P

Remember that this content was created in the 2.5-year or so period in which FFXIV was being rebuilt from the ground up after 1.0's failure; they did a lot of good in reworking the game during that time, but that leaves a very short amount of time to think through some ideas. Presumably, they were created as such to act as epic finales to 2.0's storyline - perfect from the perspective of a Final Fantasy game, but not so useful from an MMO perspective where content is run over and over again. They learned from that mistake and haven't done anything like them since, but reworking them would require time and effort that could be spent towards newer content. They really should've made those solo dungeons to begin with

Personally, I'm hopeful that if the Trust system is successful and they begin to import that concept into older content (which they've suggested they might do, though not in a "we're definitely going to do this" kind of way) that these dungeons take first priority.
It's terrible that in a 50-55 minute dungeon, there is less than 10 minutes of actual gameplay. I agree they need to turn this into a solo dungeon and put the resources into fixing this permanently.
Didn't they mention that they were going to cut down ARR and the 2.X patches around the 5.X patches? I could have sworn I read that somewhere.

I still maintain that ilvl scaling to 110 was a mistake. It should be 50-60. Then we can talk about skipping cutscenes.
