Since crafting jobs now have Soul Crystals, why not assign Glamour Plates to each one

When you take tradeskill jobs into account, there are a whopping 31 Jobs in the game. That is literally MORE than double the current number of Glamour Plates available. Moreover, it can be a bit of a nuisance trying to "organize" the plates themselves.

So I wonder; would it not make more sense to tie them into the Soul Crystals themselves, somehow?

Maybe that doesn't save at much data as I think it could, but it would certainly seem a bit more organic. Soul Crystals are an "item" without much relevance, but it makes sense it would be the source of "magic" in casting a glamour on you, different for each job.

The sole change I would like to see otherwise, is being able to dispel your glamour without requiring additional mats, or at least having to dispel piece by piece. To me, it makes more sense to just let us dispel or reapply the glamour anytime, anywhere. CHANGING glamour would still require a trip to an Inn, of course.

    Just my two gil.

crafting jobs do not have soul crystals. they get 3 specialist "souls", not one for each job. unlike the combat variety, you can trade those around between jobs

so yes, there are 31 jobs.... but only 22 soul crystals on that tab.

while I would love more plates, I dont see them thinking crafting is in any way important enough to make plates for.

I don't think anyone would complain about more glamour plates, but one for each job is kind of pushing it.

I think they should increase the plate amount to 20 (with more dresser space to match, of course), which would give one plate for every DoW/M soul crystal... But of course, since the vast majority of people don't play every job, it would still give space for some DoL/H jobs.

Oh, I was under the impression you could attain additional "Soul" items for the tradeskill jobs, beyond the first three? If not, well... why not? :P

I would sort of agree, tradeskill jobs aren't necessary to have plates, although certainly a nice enough perk! But then, if it's only for the three you've elected as your "main" tradeskills, well I wouldn't consider that a bad idea.

In addition to what you mentioned we also have the issue of the majority of DoH and DoL sets being one single set for all jobs of that type. While we do have outfits for individual jobs available, the higher ilvl stuff is going to be one-size-fits-all and can't be set to different glamours.

I have to disagree with you here simply because they care enough to make a thematic set for each DoL and DoH job, and they are full jobs with their own lore and job quests. I would love them to add at least one glamour plate for each job, but they should also add either the thematic job gear to the armory (for all jobs) or increase the glam dresser (I would prefer the former tbh).

I'm actually using 11 glamour plates for the crafters and gatherers ... since they share so much gear, and its replaced so rarely.

You can get more, but you can only specialize in three at a time. So to use another, you first have to destroy one of your existing crystals. It's weird.
