I think its time people stopped with this. I've queued as a DPS for MSQ everyday and the queue times haven't changed. Your doom and gloom has been proven false, get over it already.
I've also been queuing as a DPS, and I've been getting ranges from 20 minutes to 45 minutes. Your experience will not be echoed by everyone, just as mine won't be.
Now, SE does actually have the data and they feel some tweaking is needed already. It would seem there have indeed been some negative side effects that SE is not content with.
20-45 minutes is about the same as what I got and according to what most others have said regarding DPS times in general, this is business as usual. Times were 20-45 before, they're 20-45 now...so nothing has changed really.
All we know is SE wants more people to do MSQ so they're incentivizing it more; the assumption is that fewer players are doing it but the equally valid explanation is that too few players are doing it before the patch and SE is taking the time to fix that now. Why didn't they do that before? For the same reason the whole cut scene issue lasted as long as it did, they didn't feel like changing it before.
We'll never know what the actual numbers of participants are, all we know is that queue times haven't changed noticeably and SE wants more people to do it. The doom and gloom, MSQ is ending and new players will never be able to complete it that people have been predicting simply hasn't happened and shows no sign of happening.
And yet I had a DD that send me a tell and asked me if I want to run MSQ roulette with him because the wait was already over 30+ minutes. I dont count this as a good queue time. And on top of that SE wants to increase the rewards which is kinda telling that its seemingly not enough for people to queue into so they did saw a drop in people running it.![]()
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
so? I'm a tank main, I always have DPS friends asking me to queue with them. This has nothing to do with the MSQ roulette or even an indication that the MSQ roulette is longer than normal. Its an indication that people don't want to wait for the long dps queue times which are long for almost any roulette. There will always be 30+ minute queue times for some content at certain hours of the day. This is less an indication nobody is running any given content and more that the data center is probably asleep or at work. I've had to wait 20 minutes as a tank to get into EX before. Should I conclude that EX roulette is dead or just that everyone is asleep at 5:30 am est?
I didn't read patch notes and did MSQ roulette. I was trapped in the final Story dungeon of ARR for 50 minutes. To say I'm not happy does not reflect my rage...
Well, I queued up for MSQ roulette yesterday, as I needed the poetics. The bright side was that the cut scenes gave me enough time to go to the bathroom and then go get something to drink.
I LIKE the fence. I get 2 groups to laugh at then.
TBH, in my datacenter the dps queue have dropped to an average of 20'. That's nice, more people running tanks and healers my blind guess.
That would be good with an increased reward for mid-patch times. Maybe another currency like grand company seals or creation (for those at 70) would work. I think it is about time we had a roulette, outside guildhest, offer seals. A healer or tank with short queue and great rewards would likely go through with it. Many of the newbies are likely DPS. If I ran it, I would go with the in need bonus for shortest queue.
I feel like it's still too early to really know how these changes will affect the queue time. Right now, we still have the influx of players that only come back for new patch content. I, at least, won't give much thought to the current queue time for the roulette until the population drops back to what it normally is.
