I know easy peasy... add the extreme primal birds and dogs to the roulette as a random drop like with ala mhigo and you might get people to queue. :P

While I don't agree with "punishing speed runners" I do agree with the choice overall. We all deserve to relish the story, we all paid the same minimum rate. It's a part of the story...I for one will continue and enjoy running these duties and helping my fellow leafs out "yes even over and over" I would want the same if I were just running it for the first time. Also, yes I have a life, have a job and the likes and only get about a hour or two per day except on weekends. I will still continue to que and help the needy out, that's just the person I am. I also understand the salt people have about having to watch the long cut scenes.Frankly, I love these new changes. It serves people right for just speeding through the dungeons and ruining the experience for the new players. Just the other day, my free company and I queued up with a total of seven people, and our eighth was a new player. We granted him the full experience instead of just speeding through, and he was having the time of his life.
Maybe people should learn to be more selfless instead of griping about changes that their own actions basically forced.

I feel sorry for the guys who aren't that into the story or simply don't have the time being forced to watch it.
What if Bob is mid-cut-scene after 30mins of playing but has to go out and meet his girlfriend Bobetta! He than has to abandon the dungeon and re-try the next day sitting in another 143 minute queue to get in!
Ridiculous
This is going to negatively impact CM and Prae queues, no doubt - but probably not as badly as people are predicting. I can easily see 30 min plus queues, but I doubt we'll see them stretch to hours - at least, depending on what kind of incentives SE winds up offering. I can easily imagine folks willing to spend the extra time, due to the fact that these dungeons are faceroll easy, so it's a leisurely side activity they can do while watching Netflix, or even reading a book. Hey, if I'm gonna watch a movie, might as well rack up some Tomestones on the side?
Newbies will find the long queues discouraging, no doubt about that but it will only be for two dungeons that they're under no obligation to ever do again. They'll pull through.
I'm sure you've heard the expression "The straw that broke the camel's back". XIV is not a perfect game, and SE has this habit of implementing things in the most ass-backwards way you could think of. Everyone has their breaking point, and it seems this latest move is it for him.
They have known about this particular issue for YEARS. Basically since the launch of the game. And when they finally get around to dealing with it - they now just force CSs on everyone? Unless they are offering exorbitant XP rewards, they have most likely killed this roulette and only the sprouts will suffer.
Lastly, I'm sure they are hoping this will help boost their MSQ skipping potions. I know people have been joking about that in this thread, but I don't doubt that was one of the positives in their mind for implementing the change in this way.
I run this daily to train my tank as the content is so easy. Sadly however I will never run this again after the patch as I simply wont have the time daily to include this in my rou runs now. Sad day for sprouts. I remember trying to do these two years ago I had to queue for 5 hours to get in and if it wasn’t for my fc mates help I would have quit. Sad to see it go backwards
No, people want to play MMO AND enjoy the story. Just like you and many people did.I don't get this post. they're not saying sprouts don't deserve to have a good first experience or view the cutscenes, and in fact suggest an idea that would make both parties happy: A solo experience.
Veterans no longer have to go through the duty for the sake of a roulette, and new players get the best possible experience with the content.
There is no problem whatsoever in waiting for cutscenes imo since the rewards will get better.
Won't someone please think of the sprouts!
I think you're underestimating. MSQ is already a 20 to 40 min queue. It will go into hours, you need to remember sure we'll lose some to people completely saying not worth it, but there will be a lot more that are going to do what I am.
My roulette right now runs are priority based: alliance>MSQ>leveling>50/60>trials
After this MSQ will definitely drop to last, and sure if I have enough time I'll do it. But I rarely make it all the way down my list. Just means I'll be in the MSQ roulette a lot less. And we're going to see that from a lot of people.
I always wanted those cutscenes to be in the little book that we had at the Inn. It's why I skipped them the first time I went because I was under the impression I could watch them later. I was so very wrong but I never wanted to watch them in full because they made the dungeon so ABSURDLY long. This was always the main complaint and now they've gone totally backwards on the solution.
